Turkey is a very interesting, extremely beautiful, rich and varied place. Salih was an excellent guide: knowledgable, kind, efficient, funny and resourceful. You need a reasonable level of fitness especially if going during the hot months. The highlights for me was the coastal boat trip, stunning Kapadokya in particular the hot air balloon trip and the Turkish dancing night.

I loved this trip, Suleyman our tour guide was fantastic and went out of his way to educate us about the history and culture of the country. There is some walking up hills on the trip so i would recommend taking appropriate footwear and clothing. Make sure you take your own water bottle as all the hotels have water to fill it up, its also more sustainable. Overall you get to see a good part of Turkey, each location brings something different to the tour. I would recommend doing the ballooning at Cappadocia, its at an extra expense but well worth it.

Great country, beautiful people, great scenery and food. Salih our guide was brilliant and had a passion and laugh that was both infectious and heartwarming.

I loved Turkey and loved that we were able to cover so much ground. However, I got really tired of arriving at our destination in the late afternoon, checking in, having dinner, getting up the next morning and moving on. I think extending the trip by 2 or 3 days would be a great idea, and spending more nights in Kas and other areas would be wonderful. I had trip fatigue and I think all of us were sick of being so much on the go. I for one, really got tired of the bus!!

Turkey Encompassed was an excellent introduction to this amazing country – warm and friendly people and rich in culture and history. Turkey is very safe and Ali was the best guide ever. Travel light and don’t miss out on the optional extras. This tour was amazing and very good value. I’ll be definitely traveling with Intrepid again!

Being a solo traveller for the first time covering so many cities, I am glad I chose Intrepid Travels. Nothing was rushed and flexibility is the key. Optional activities can be done as a group subject to the number of interests. Our guide who had a cheeky sense of humour made it too easy for us to soak in the beauties of the country… Loved every aspect of the tour from Day 1 to the sad departure day. See The Best of Turkey only with Intrepid Travels!

Great trip. I would strongly advise travellers to spend at least three or four days in Istanbul before or after the trip. There is lots to see and do, and Istanbul is a great city to just hang out in. It would be a crime to visit Istanbul and only spend an afternoon there. You don’t need a tour guide. Any decent guide book will do.

When its a group tur you will not know who is on the trip. Most were younger than me and the older were in couples. Oh well.. But the tour was so great I overlook that.

The pepole, the food, the colours, the effervescence of Turkey are all captured in this tour. I enjoyed every aspect of it and have already started recommending to friends and family. Turkey was number one on my bucket list of places to go in the world, and I am pleased that I chose this tour to tick it off with. Thank you to my guide, Ozan Balkan. You have made this trip so special for me. and I am so very grateful.

My husband was very hesitant to go with me to Turkey because of the news articles warning Americans to stay out of Turkey due to America’s support of the Kurds. One article in March stated the Turkish public currently viewed America as “public enemy number one”. He felt it wouldn’t be safe for us to travel there. I said, maybe some Turks hate Americans, but on the other hand, some Americans hate Americans. After two weeks of traversing central and western Turkey, we did not encounter even one incident to substantiate the news article claims. Our personal experience found the people of Turkey to be very warm, conscientious, respectful and accepting. We enjoyed visiting the historical sites, experiencing the culture and Turkish cuisine. The choices are boundless and inexpensive. Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, Ancient Troy, Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Gallipoli, Cappadocia, endless ancient ruins, beautiful monuments and landscapes are just a few of the highlights. I had been wanting to visit Turkey for a very long time and my husband and I are glad that we were finally able to.

One of the best trips I’ve ever taken in my life. Not only did the itinerary ensure we saw the best of Turkey, but our group leader was very knowledgable and genuinely cared about the group’s wellbeing and happiness.

This was a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend it. Exciting Istanbul, amazing ruins, beautiful sea side Mediterranean villages, loads of history with ruins such as Ephesos and the highlight for me; a hot air balloon ride over the moonscape of Cappadocia.
