Did the Morocco Bike, Hike and Ride. Enjoyed everything about this trip, it was a good mix of city and country, exercise and downtime. Felt like we saw the real Morocco. We were a group of friends in our 50s and 60s and we handled it no worries. Our guide Ilyas was awesome and gave us real insight into what makes Morocco tick. Absolutely recommend this trip if you want a week that packs a lot in, in a short time

The South of Morocco was great but prepare to be emersed in a culture like no other. The food is lovely though rather repetitive and accommodation was much better than I expected from a basics tour. Bring a book or music for the buses as there are quite a few!

This was an amazing tour. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the stunning Atlas Mountains and experiencing the vastness of the Sahara Desert.

Our guide was professional and informative, the trip met my expectations an more. Many adventures and fun was had.

A good trip. Lots of other reviews say it all so here are some tips instead: take lots of water on the trip into the desert as none is provided; if you don’t spend any extra time Casablanca then you won’t be missing much; you may well find yourself throwing up at some point so take dehydration sachets etc. and your own supply of toilet paper just in case; the logical place to do laundry is Todra Gorge as it is halfway through and you spend two nights there, but the results weren’t great given the price so just take travel wash and do your own. Most of all, enjoy!

Be prepared to eat a lot of bread. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Every meal comes with it and most of it is delicious! Also be prepared (at breakfast) to find very little protein, so consider bringing something along to eat if that is something of concern. All other meals are jam packed with soups, salads, meat, vegetables, fruits and other sweet treats. You will not go hungry. Mint tea is a must and there is an abundance of it! Expect the cities to be busy and a little crazy with the traffic (close your eyes and run when crossing the road!), but that the rural areas are peaceful and the people there are the most friendly. You will see cities, desert, mountains, oceans and everything in between. The architecture will amaze you, the Medina’s will inspire you, the ocean will calm you, the mountains will make you feel humble and the desert – despite being rolling sand dunes that go on and on – will be one of the most stunning things you will ever see. Intrepid do an excellent job at showing you the ‘real’ Morocco and not just the tourist haunts. You really do get the local experience and a true feeling for what the culture has to offer. We travelled during mid June and experienced 26-39 degree heat. Marrakech is known to be 50+ degrees usually at this time, so we were exceptionally lucky. Pack light so you can take some exquisite, hand made goodies home (which you can see made in front of you) and also because you can launder your clothes at each 2 day stop if needed. Loose fitting clothes are recommended for warmer weather and a jacket for the mountains if you are the type to get easily cold. There are some longer, more intense walks, but there are options for those not feeling up to it to ride a mule, take a shorter walk or relax at your accommodation. There is no way I would have seen as much of this country as I did, and certainly not the more local aspects of it, if I had not done this tour with Intrepid. If you are lucky enough to get Mohamed M as your Group Leader, you are in for a treat! He is very knowledgeable, considerate and a lot fun! Make sure you ask him to play Saad Lamjarred’s hit song ‘Let Go’ 😉

Morocco Encompassed was an incredible experience. I saw so much of Morocco, every stop on the tour was so different and our guide Abdu went above and beyond to add extra activities, to educate us about Morocco and introduce us to the locals. We met so many kind and interesting people, learnt a lot about the country, had a lot of fun and saw so many incredible places. This was a 10/10 experience and I highly recommend it.

Great trip, enjoyed it a lot. Small group meant a bit more flexibility and a small vehicle and having no name on the outside of the van was great – didn’t tell everyone else we were a tour group! Loved Morocco and saw some fantastic locations and especially loved the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara! Very important that people understand the impact of travelling during Ramadan – not necessarily a negative, it was very quiet, but did have some negative impacts (-: Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Intrepid and do it again ourselves.

“The best of Morocco” is a must for people wanting to see the ancient past, the culture and people of North Africa, the changing landscapes of the country, the food and the shopping. It has all elements combined into one trip. Highly recommended for your “to do” list.

Morocco was really interesting. Only spoilt by the fact that we were continually led in to shops and factories that used high pressure sales techniques to try to sell us things that in most cases we neither wanted or needed. Beware.

Intrepid are a great company to travel with, they employ excellent guides and travel with small groups. They are very organized in every way and take all the stress out of traveling. I would highly recommend traveling with this company and look forw2ard to traveling with them again.

In my experience, Intrepid itineraries are thoughtful and of high quality. Group size is small and travellers generally like minded. Intrepid tour leaders are experienced, knowledgeable and caring. Furthermore, Intrepid’s responsible travel ethos always rates highly.

Fantastic trip to see some of the highlights of South Morocco.

The Moroccan tour is the best. Great people, excellent tour guides, wonderful food and so much to see. Loved the mosaics and the scenery was incredible. No place is the same in Morocco. We would definitely recommend Intepid.

This trip to Morocco was an interesting experience. The country has friendly people, especially when you get out of the major cities and into the countryside. Don’t miss the Sahara. Bring half of what you would normally pack on vacation. The country is quite safe, however street begging is a constant problem. Too many street hawkers.

Excellent trip … Just don’t arrive in Casablanca early to explore. Hotel rooms are in rough shape and the hotel is in a bad and unsafe location. Aside from that, every was great.

We had the wonderful opportunity to travel with our 20 year-old daughter to a destination she had selected. We loved everything about our trip including the incredible country, best-in-class tour guide and truly enjoyed every single member of our tour group. Job Well Done!

Despite the extreme Moroccan heat, please be respectful and bring ample outfits that cover the shoulders and the knees, especially when touring the smaller Berber communities. For example, bring more T-shirts instead of tank tops, and more capris instead of shorts.

This trip has a lot of driving, so be ready to sit in a bus for lots of half day drives.

This is a trip that provides a nice mixture of cycling challenges for the average cyclist whilst also providing access to a variety of cities and rural settings. Our leader and his support team were fun, easy going but very organised and cognizant of their responsibilities. Amazing trip – lots to see and do. Don’t get too stressed about the things you read RE how to dress. As long as you are respectful and polite, and aren’t wearing anything too skimpy you’ll have no dramas. The tour covers a lot of ground but the travel is broken up by stops and things so you don’t feel like you’re always on a train or bus etc

Casual, in your face, travel on the front line. Not a luxurious standard of travel, yet a very comfortable and relaxed way to go.

If you want to go to Morocco but you’re timid of Africa and still want to be pampered, the Best of Morocco is for you.

Compare other product available, and make sure you know if you are purchasing budget, mid_pack or high end product and adjust your expectations based on your purchase. Don’t whine on a budget tour, as if you had purchase a five star experience. Get real!

Excellent itinerary; you will get to see so many different aspects of Morocco, from cities to stunning mountain and desert landscapes. Great opportunities to experience the local culture. A great option for solo travelers looking to join a group and connect with others. Knowledgeable and funny tour guides. I would highly recommend this tour!

Overall the trip was excellent! We got a great taste of Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The travel between cities was sometimes exhausting as this trip covers a lot of ground in a short time. Pack light with a backpack and leave room for shopping!

We found this tour to be an excellent and comprehensive introduction to Morocco. We enjoyed the way it bought to life the images we had of well known places within Morocco, the remarkable geographical diversity it provided and probably most of all the surprising and unexpected intimate insights of people and their lives within this wonderful country.

Intrepid has been a most enjoyable way to travel: great tour guides with a lot of local knowledge, small groups & get access to places you would not be able to as a general tourist Nice to have everything organised-especially if you do not speak the language!

There was no area to rate the shopping experiences most were ok but it was interesting to see some of the same products in stores at much less money than at the cooperatives. There was one shop we were taken to on our tour of Marrakech, a herbalist. The information was given very quickly with all 11 of us seating on a bench like school children. We were then given baskets, all products shown again with prices and asked who wanted to buy. We were in and out of the shop in less than half an hour with no time to look at other items. Very high pressured compared to the carpet experience where the two salesmen were very accommodating and no pressure.

The idea of having a small number of travelers on the road was valuable. Personal attention and guide is a real benefit.

A wonderful experience. Very well organized with fantastic accommodation. Even though we traveled during Ramadam our group leader always catered for our needs even though he was recognized ramadam himself. Local guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Thankyou Intrepid.

Couple of things for those considering this trip. If you have a small attention span, this is the trip for you. They keep you so busy moving from place to place, you will not be bored but it is exhausting, at least for me. Some days you’re visiting 3 different sites and traveling a total of 8 hours in a day. Fellow female solo travelers, do show up in Casablanca early (2 days at least), do stay in the accommodation or the Ibis next door. Casablanca and Marrakech are awful, so be very careful. Do dress appropriately. Don’t go hiking on your own. Bring a bathing suit, there are two accommodations that have pools (Chefchaouen and Marrakech). Don’t have wealth guilt, definitely barter. Those are my tips. Enjoy Morocco!

This is an action-filled trip that gives you a great impression of Morocco and its culture. There are so many highlights, including the blue city Chefchaouen – easily the prettiest town I have ever been to!

Follow your guidelines especially related to money exchange and tipping

This is a very well organized trip and the blue city, Chefchaouen, was a highlight of the trip. Packing lightly is a must and bring plenty of sunscreen, if you are traveling in spring or summer. Planning an extra day in Marrakesh is also a good option to consider.

This was my first trip with intrepid and my first trip of this type, I would thoroughly recommend it, we were well looked after with a lovely tour guide, Mohamad. The itinerary was well thought out, busy with lots of interesting things to see and the local guides were so friendly. enthusiastic and well informed. There was a great mix of people from their early twenties to their late sixties, singles, couple friends all from different parts of the . There was quite a lot of walking and you had to be able to carry your luggage from the hotels to the transport, not far but sometimes there was lots of steps. The places we stayed were often quirky and gave a real flavour of the country. I loved it and can’t wait to do another trip. Great value.

Morocco is truly a country for the senses; rich in history, culture and tradition. The North Morocco Adventure was a great mix of key cities and sites in this beautiful country. Trip highlights were Volubilis, Chefchaouen, the local family guest house stay and to my surprise and delight, travelling with like minded others!

This trip is fairly fast paced, so be prepared to be on the move.

Our recent trip to Morth Morocco with Intrepid was everything I hoped it would be and more. I was initially a little apprehensive as an older traveller – over 60 but fit – however there was no need. Our group of 14, ranging from 18 to over 60 got on so well and we had an excellent and knowledgable guide whose contribution to this interesting and enjoyable tour of Morocco was first class. Intrepid has helped to confirm what I always suspected – that Morocco is a stunning, colourful and friendly country that I shall definitely revisit. I would highly recommend this trip.

This was my first ever trip with a group and its been overall an amazing experience. I found the trip very well organised. I enjoyed the nomadic nature of it, we kept moving around, exploring different landscapes and areas and experiencing different types of accomodation, all very well selected. You get to see all different faces of Morocco (mountains, dessert, seaside) and you really get an all-round experience of it. Our tour guide, Mustafa, has been incredible and looked after us throughout the trip. Met some lovely people on the way and got more confidence to attempt this again soon. Highly recommend it.

The Mount Toubkal is truly a magical experience. The ascent to the summit would not have been possible without the mountaineering expertise and professionalism of our guide, Abdul, and his assistant Hassan. 4 days on the mountain and 3 days in Marrakesh is a perfect week long getaway and discovery tour for travelers looking for their first high mountain adventure and festive sensory overload of the smells, cuisine and exoticism of Marrakesh.

When picking a trip with intrepid be very sure of which level you choose. The trip we just went on had wonderful locations and people in our group but we did not read the itinerary closely enough and needed more time at the beginning and the end of the trip to see Madrid and Marrakech. Also I don’t sleep well and the level of accommodations on this trip was sub standard for me. Next time I would do a level higher in order to get more comfortable beds for a better sleep. I also would make sure you can handle walking many miles and doing many stairwells hauling your luggage without any help at all. It’s a challenging tour for sure but very memorable.

The pre-trip suggestions for this tour are very accurate and helpful. If you are considering an Intrepid, I suggest following the instructions for packing and logistics; these tips came in handy for me.

Our tour leader organised amazing lunches and dinners when these weren’t provided but I found this was way too much food. Most breakfasts included a hard boiled egg, I just took the egg for lunch.

The perfect balance of guided activities and free time! I was able to enjoy very moment of my trip with our amazing team leader making sure all the logistics were taken care of at each new destination. Intrepid really does promote travel and cultural immersion, not just tourism.

We wished that we had added another couple of nights in Marrakesh at the end, because we didn’t see anywhere near enough of this city in one day. I would advise anyone to take much less luggage than I took, and indeed than any of our group. 4 bottoms and 5 tops, plus a dress and two pairs of shoes, a light jacket and a cardigan and something warm like thermals. You don’t need a whole lot of changes. I had a sleeping bag liner and pillow case for the dunes trip (and we wondered how often the sheets are changed on that campsite but we didn’t care as it was such a wonderful experience!) Read as much and as widely as you can before leaving home. However NOTHING can prepare you for the beauty of this country and the happiness of the people.

Be careful when booking that your price doesn’t increase dramatically while you are waiting for Intrepid to confirm your previous trips. Also push for single room supplement if you really want one – or get the names of the hotels and book directly yourself.

Morocco Uncovered is an amazing trip to discover the beauty of this country – from lush landscapes, to the High Atlas Mountains, to the desert. The tour offers a good mix of cities and villages to really get acquainted with the Moroccan lifestyle. I highly recommend!

Morocco has varied terrain in a compact accessible area. The impact of other cultures on the land and people and the blending of various influences makes for a rich and complex experience in this fascinating land. The people were warm and welcoming and open to sharing. It was a delightful trip. Our Intrepid leader made everything flow smoothly and insured that we were happy travelers!

Covers a good cross section of landmass, culture and history. The minibus made travelling comfortable and the group size meant it was easy to get around with little waiting. A local tour guide gives a detailed insight into the way people live both now and in the past.

This is a great trip. You will enjoy it more with a reasonable level of fitness.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to get to know a Berber family and experience their pace of life. The biggest surprise to me was the amount of fun involved. Once the days walk and work was done, the family liked nothing better than to sing and dance and to teach us how to sing and dance with them. Life slowed down as we walked through the hills and valleys putting the world to rights in long conversations, with no phone signals to interrupt us. I recommend meandering with the sheep and goats in the morning and catching up with the others later. The first day’s walk was tiring as the ground was rough and stoney but don’t be put off, the terrain gets easier. It was warm when the sun was up and cold when it went down. I had a puffa jacket and a woolly hat on in the evenings. There were lots of ways to get involved in the camp in the morning and evening, whether that was loading donkeys, chasing chickens, or fetching brushwood for the fire (bring gloves). The openness and trust shown to us by this family was humbling.

I absolutely loved this trip and it totally exceeded my expectations! We had brilliant leaders, a fantastic crew, a beautiful boat and enjoyed a whole host of fascinating and really varied activities. Not to mention the food, how they produced those amazing meals in such a tiny kitchen I’ll never know.

Overall this thirteen day tour was a wonderful experience. Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara, and Marrakech were absolute must see highlights! Be sure to pack appropriate clothing for warm and cool weather along with good walking shoes for the many adventures on this tour. Happy Travels Judy and Dave

Morocco uncovered tour was the perfect way to get a real feel of Morocco beyond the usual stuff you read about in the guidebooks. It is alot of travelling but well worth it for the experience. Adil our tour leader was very enthusiastic and passionate about showing us the real Morrocco and he delivered. I was hesitant to take the trip with so many hours in the car, but they ended up being great hours. Views the whole way and a good way to relax in-between adventures. Amazing way to see Morocco. I suggest doing the Morocco encompasses. Able to see everything! But if only able to do north or south, do south. You are able to get by with a suitcase easily if you don’t want to use a backpack Should cover knees and shoulders or respect but some areas are more relaxed I wore shorts and think tank tops in Marrakech with no issues and many people doing the same.

Morocco was an amazing destination. Full of culture from the Medina’s to the Atlas mountains to the Sahara to the sea. Highly recommend this destination.

North Morocco was an interesting tour, efficiently run, with visits to great locations , and lots of information from excellent local guides but our tour leader obviously saw his role as logistical rather having a socially coordinating role.

Cycling was a wonderful way to see the varied terrain of Morocco. We had a range of ability and experience levels on our trip and it seemed like everyone enjoyed the cycling. I am on the newer side to cycling and I found that the periodic stops for everyone in the group to convene and fill up on water and snacks made the hours of cycling approachable. The itinerary felt well designed; the distance and difficulty of the rides seemed to increase over the course of the trip. We cycled on average about 2-3 hours each day. Overall a memorable and wonderful trip!

I loved the North of Morocco trip, more than the South. It was filed with so much stuff which really revealed the amazing qualities of the Moroccan culture. It gave opportunities which would have never been experienced in a solo trip, totally recommend!

South Morocco was as beautiful as it was different to North Morocco. I couldn’t recommend one trip over the other save to say that if you’re able, do both. Pack light in a small suit case or hiking back pack and save room for all the goodies you’ll want to take back home.

These tours are perfect for places which you wouldn’t necessarially know where to start on your own. The trips exceed your expectations and provide opportunities to see the culture and country which would not be achieved theiugj planning your own holiday! Amazing!

This was a fantastic trip and a great way to experience and see Moroccan culture first-hand by cycling through local communities and a myriad of beautiful landscapes. It was an incredible trip and I would highly recommend this trip to others but you do need a good level of fitness and bike competency to do this trip as there was some steep hills to negotiated. The views at the top of all them however were incredible and worth the effort!

The tour was well packaged and we comfortably covered a fair distance in the 18 days. Our senses were bombarded with new experiences almost everyday. This was enhanced by our very helpful tour leader Abdou, our local guides and the new friends that we have made on this adventure of ours. Morocco is a great destination especially with its warm and friendly locals.

An excellent trip. It does require a reasonable level of fitness but has a good balance. Make sure you have a bag with a good set of wheels as they and you will do a few km!

This trip was a great opportunity to see a lot in a short period of time. From wandering the markets of Fes, watching the sun set over Moulay Idriss, exploring the Alhambra in Granada, and strolling the beaches of Barcelona, every moment was pretty incredible.

Highly recommend Intrepid and the Marrakesh to Barcelona tour. We visited incredible places and were provided with a great level of history and knowledge of cultures. The orientation walks in each city provided a great starting point for our free time in each place.

I was intrigued by the itinerary and had never been on a cycling trip. This trip exceeded my expectations. Morocco is a fascinating country and so varied between the ancient cities, mountains and desert. I can’t stop talking about what a fabulous time I had with Intrepid.

Informative, well organised, very interesting. You need to be fairly fit and willing to walk some distance to get the most out of this tour. Fatima was an excellent tour leader and explained everything fully, she gave some excellent orientation walks. Do some homework before you go, so you know what to expect and what you most want to see.

Intrepid tours allow you to visit many places in one trip, while taking the hassle out of travel arrangements, navigating new destinations, and figuring out how to get acquainted with the local culture. It is important to be in good health/shape for these trips, bring comfortable clothes and drink lots of water, since it involves a great deal of walking (which I absolutely love!), some late nights and early mornings, and a fair amount of traveling between cities/towns for 3- 8 hour stretches. Interpersonal skills are also crucial, as you will travel, dine, commune and share close quarters with people from different countries, cultures and values that may not always align with yours. It’s important to keep an open mind, respect your co-travellers, and learn from the experience. You’ll no doubt make great friends and amazing memories!!

This is the perfect trip to immerse oneself in Morocco’s food culture.

Loved the trip. A fascinating glimpse of changes in Morocco after a visit 43 years ago. The food element of the trip was amazing and the visit to the mountainside village a highlight.

This trip was described as a Taste of Spain, Portugal and Morocco and it lived up to this description. Some travelers seemed disappointed about the brief visits to cities we passed through (eg Seville) but everything was as described in the trip notes. Definitely need to carry minimum luggage weight as you will carry it up and down stairs in hotels and transport facilities.

Overall we thought Madrid to Marrakesh was a fantastic trip with lots to see and do. The changes in culture, architecture, and landscape as we traveled south through Spain and Portugal into Morocco were fascinating to see and experience. The trip was enhanced by Ross, a wonderful leader.

Definitely a brilliant company. They make sure that their travellers experience different aspects of a country, that are not normally experienced by tourists.

Intrepid is a great company that arrange group trips and a good varied itinerary. The local tour leader was excellent and gave us some interesting local knowledge and experiences that were more off the beaten track. Many of our meals were included, it was great value for money. Best tip is to use the trip notes to know what the trip is about and what is included or not. From there use other resources to do as much or little research as required.

The Moroccan Food tour lived up to all expectations – just do it and make sure to pack elasticised waist bands!

We loved this trip! Great opportunity to see a range of Morocco’s scenery, learn about the culture and interact with the local people. Hicham, our guide was great with the kids and very conscientious. Our kids really enjoyed both the activities on the trip and hanging-out with the other families.

If you like group travel, unique experiences, learning about different cultures from locals, and sometimes a little craziness then Intrepid is for you! I love that I get to enjoy all the wonderful perks of travel without the hassles of logistics. I will definitely be booking with Intrepid again in the near future!

The cycling and scenery were (unexpectedly) stunning – very little traffic, some great downhills and good roads for the most part… On the downside the trip was a little chaotic at times (very late lunches, not meeting points between cycling legs…) and as a veggie I was disappointed with the food – with one or two exceptions really quite bland and the same couple of options all trip. However, given the bargain price overall I’d certainly recommend the trip.

The foodie tour was great, excellent emphasis on local produce and markets, cooking and preparation, and very tasty overall.

I loved this experience! Walking with the Berber family and sharing their life in music and food and walking was the most amazing time. A perfect introduction to group travel “off the beaten track”! I’m just not sure anything in the future can live up to this experience.

The family holiday was really great. Travelling in a group with other families made the whole experience so much more enjoyable for the kids. Our guide Mohammed was kind and caring and made all of us feel safe and well looked after even during the more ‘Intrepid’ aspects of the trip. The walk and night stay in the Atlas mountains was a particular highlight for us all.

This is an extraordinary trip which gives an opportunity to establish a human connection with people who live very different lives. We met not just the core family but some of their friends and cousins along the way. Their kindness and sense of fun set the tone for the days we spent with them. We learned berber songs and dancing so we could join in. if you know a traditional song from your own country I’m sure it would be much appreciated. It’s warm during the day but chilly when the wind comes down in the evening and cold after dark. On leaving we all wanted to give the family tokens of our thanks and warm clothes and redundant sleeping bags were hugely appreciated. I’ve never seen such a happy face on a teenage girl after being given a pair of socks. Make sure you bring a small first aid kit with you. There are no shops to go to if you have a headache or sore throat and the thorns are prickly.

This trip is very active and has an amazing selection of included activities, keeping the whole family happy. If like me it’s been a while since you cycled uphill I’d suggest you do a bit of training as the Hammam massage at the end was needed… ATMs are everywhere with +3 within 1 min walk from hotel so no need to carry too much cash.

Short itinary but quite fullfilling physically and culturally. Be ready for exercising your thights horse riding on the beach and dunes followed the next day by many hours of cycling in the stunning mountains of the Atlas and also hiking there the next day. The Hamman will give you the real experience of a scrub and massage! An unforgettable taste of Tajine in Marrakech, on y va!

WOW! Having traveled solo for the past 7 and experiencing some of the wildest adventures the world can offer, I was a bit skeptical of joining a group tour, but Intrepid blew my mind! I’ve been to 35 countries, but walking with the Berber nomads stands out as THE BEST travel experience I have ever had. A truly one-of-a-kind journey, this trip is an amazing chance to live amongst the nomads and learn everything from how to catch a runaway chicken to how to load a pack onto a camel to how to bake traditional Moroccan bread. I could not have asked for a more authentic, delightful, or eye-opening adventure. I’m already planning my return!!

This is an unbeatable way to see a gorgeous and varied country. I recommend bringing a padded seat, shorts, gloves and layers. It can be bitter cold in the morning, and then you’re in shorts and t-shirt by noon. You can never tell the weather. Highly recommended

Morocco has the most amazing scenery and cycling was definitely the best way to enjoy the landscape. More tarmac cycling than I thought there would be so not as difficult as expected.

The trip far exceeded our expectations: beautiful changing landscapes, colourful local culture and getting to know the lovely people that the Moroccans are. However, I wouldn’t say this trip deserves to be called ‘culinary’: this is specifically a reflection of Morocco as opposed to the tour per se. 90% of the trip’s success was due to our fantastic guide Tarik, but overall we will be recommending this trip to every single person we know.

This is an incredible experience, it’s 1000 times more than you expect, such a treat for every kind of traveller, would do it again in a heartbeat.

Best of Morocco was excellent. There were so many “once in a lifetime” experiences one after another. Highlights for me were hiking up to meet a nomad family, riding a dromedary (one hump camel) into the desert and sleeping under the stars, shopping in the medina in Fes, and a hot air balloon ride outside of Marrakesh. I fell in love with Morocco and it’s people.

A great trip. We loved every second. The balance of action and downtime was perfect and the tour guide was absolutely fantastic. We’d recommend packing warm clothes for the homestay and stocking up on snacks for the children for the long drives.

Family trips are a wonderful, social and fun way to experience a new culture. The Moroccan Family Trip was well paced and interesting with several visits to local people in their homes. Activities were based around animals, people and food and provided experiences we would not have had if we were traveling independently. Our guide, Mohammed, considered the children at all times, and took the stress out of traveling in a foreign culture. There were a couple of long travel days and late nights but the children kept each other going. My children were older (13 and 15) and loved every minute. We highly recommend this trip.

Morocco is a stunning and varied country who’s people are friendly and welcoming. Be prepared to eat a lot of bread and drink mint tea or nous nous coffee. It gets cold up in the mountains so pack layers. I loved every second of this trip, too many highlights to narrow down. But if you get Mohamed as your guide, you are in for a treat!! He is amazing!!

Best of Morocco was amazing. We had “once in a lifetime” experiences day after day. Being part of a beautiful and generous Berber Nomad family’s migration in Morocco’s Atlas Mts. was an incomparable experience. My precious memories of sharing their daily lives will be with me forever. The family’s openness and their acceptance of our curiosity seemed natural and mutual. I loved being outdoors all day everyday except when sipping sweet mint tea or dining in caves. The mountains are gorgeous and the hillsides spectacular, especially when they are dotted with the family’s goats, sheep, camels, mules and donkeys.

Amazing experience for myself, my husband and teenage boys (they didn’t even miss the Xbox!). Somethings may change on the tour because the guide might meets an old friend and he invites you to go their house for tea, just go with it and let the trip happen and it will be the experience you will never forget.

Our days were spent trekking the High Atlas Mountains with sheep, goats, mules, donkeys and camels! Our evenings entailed making bread, singing and dancing with the locals, embracing the Berber culture and having a dip in the local stream. Each night, we fell asleep in tents or caves, under an utterly remarkable starry sky, to the quiet braying of the donkeys. A truly remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Bring wet wipes, sunglasses, a hat, sun screen, and shoes to hike in. Pack lite, there are opportunities to have your laundry done in the cities you stay more than one night.

A truly incredible, authentic once in a life time experience learning about nomadic Berber life. The people were so open and friendly and their way of life had such beatify and simplicity, away from the trappings of modern life. We travelled in the most beautiful and remote places, taking in breath taking views and experiences, knowing that they were just for us; A truly special experience.

Hiking with Berbers gave me great insight into the joys and hardships nomadic people face in a changing world. We shared food, songs, and dances with this amazing family and built friendships. In addition we were so fortunate to travel with them in one of the most majestic landscapes I have ever seen. The land and people took my breathe away and I will never forget tbis experience.

Glad I was fit for the extensive walking…some of it built into tour, some of it my own choosing. Be ready for lots of steps. An interesting and enjoyable tour.

To share a small part of Fatima and her families life was an extraordinary and humbling experience. To walk in such fantastic scenery along with camels donkeys and sometimes mules is an experience I won’t forget. Fantastic food and music and dancing were in abundance. And the stars and thunder and lightening and the rain. We experienced it all! Take lots of spare batteries to last the trip, purifying tablets, hand sanitizer, wet wipes and head torch are essentials.

This was a magical week where we got to go completely off the grid and experience a simple yet beautiful way of life with our Nomadic Berber family.

For my first time on a guided tour, I loved this food adventure! Small group of like-minded people made for easy camaraderie. Although we did, as one city guide say, suffer from TFS (tajine fatigue syndrome LOL) we had an opportunity to try many foods, learn how to make some traditional Moroccan dishes, and contribute to some cooperatives helping mostly women. Great value for money trip. Exceptional and knowledgeable guides. Always good to know how it’s helping the local communities – particularly underprivileged women. Transport and accommodation very good.

A food-focused trip through Morocco was worth every penny. Come hungry. Accommodations were all very nice, and better than expected. Cooking experiences were fun and interesting. Add a day at the start/end to see more of Casablanca/Marrakesh, or find your way to Chefchaouen or the Sahara.

Great trip. I would bring a cheap sleeping bag or a fleece liner, accommodation basic but well adequate. Lots of scree/scrambles so boots advised.

This trip was a mix of having group activities and more guided in morocco (but not stifled) and then lots more free time once in Spain. Having always done 3rd world or very culturally different countries with intrepid before I was presently surprised to see how things ran in such a place as Spain which is much more touristy and ‘westernised’ . Vera’s familiarisation tours were great to learn a bit about the subway and a little orientation to the cities so we could organise how best to spend the next day! Thanks again!

Read all the notes and come prepared. The more you know about your destination the more information you can get from your guide with questions! Have fun, enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and soak up new adventures! Woo!

If you are into food, vibe and awesome sights then this is the trip for you! A fair amount of daily walking makes for awesome meals! Do it – you won’t be sad!

Well planned itinerary covering the Atlas Mountains and the tourist hotspots of Marrakech in a short amount of time. The trek is hugely challenging even for very competent hill walkers but it is beautiful and making it to the summit will lift your spirits for the rest of the year to come!

The Intrepid tour was recommended to me by a friend as being reliable and high quality, I was not disappointed. Morocco and Spain were countries I had not visited before. Morocco is one of those places you will never forget, such a unique experiences particularly in the Medinas and in Fes, my favourite part. The orientation walks in each of the cities in Spain really provide a deep connection to the town and make you yearn to come back and explore more.

The Mount Toubkal trek is an amazing feast for the senses. From the challenging climb to the summit in the high Atlas Mountains, the small Berber villages with local artists and fine crafts, to the lively and colorful square in the city of Marrakech, this trip offers a superb experience of Morocco!

The Morocco Food Tour was great. Lots of food experiences in markets, homestays and everywhere else. Also had a really enjoyable mule ride up the mountainside! Completely recommend this trip if you are considering it. Intrepid really take the hassle out of travelling by organising all travel and accommodation which allows you to enjoy all the fun parts.

The Mount Toubkal Trek is a wonderful experience. I found the final stages of the hike up the mountain challenging, but getting to the top was a very special achievement. Our Intrepid guide was a real highlight of the trip, and was very enthusiastic and helpful. I would recommend this trek to anyone with a healthy level of fitness and some experience walking up mountains.

Intrepid offer immersive experiences. Forget going off the beaten track. Allow a local guide to take you up mountains, down valleys, absorbing sights, culture, history and food as you go.
