Travelling in a small group was a great way to see Cambodia, You get to spend your holiday with people from all over the world. Every detail was taken care of with plenty of free time to rest or explore the many sites and activities our wonderful guide Bun had suggested. Take the time to experience opportunities that arise, you may never get another chance to do so.
Intrepid offer a more personal way to get to know the country you are visiting, especially with home visits and local foods
Great trip with amazing guides!
This trip is highly recommended, a real insight into Cambodias past. The temples including Angkor Wat were amazing.
It was just amazing exploring this Country. You have to travel to Cambodia
Intrepid made my first holiday after 10 years extremely easy and carefree. I didnt have to worry about where I needed to be or what we were doing that day as it was all arranged by our guide. The stress was taken out of the whole process and I could truly enjoy myself.
The Cambodia Discovery was an excellent way to see and experience this fascinating country. I feel I this trip offers excellent value for money, I enjoyed it very much!
This trip includes so many activities and sights that you’ll take part of and visit. I really enjoyed it.
Being on this tour gave me access to activities I would not have thought of seeing otherwise. The insights and local knowledge made me appreciate the people and culture so much more that if I had traveled solo. Take advantage of your tour leader and ask questions there is a wealth of local knowledge there that will make you appreciate Cambodia so much more!
The Best of Vietnam and Cambodia is a trip worth doing! If you’ve never travelled to these countries before, this tour will blow your mind and give you an insight into places beyond what the basic tourists do. I feel so enriched and full of joy after my tour, I would do it all again in a heartbeat. One of the best holidays ever!!
Intrepid travel 10/10. Very well designed tour which exceeded my expectations. Will definitely use the company for my next trip. Thankyou.
A great introduction to Cambodia made so by our guide Boreth. Cambodia is very different from Vietnam If you want to experience the local people while still doing the tourist bits then this trip will do it.A lot of time is spent on buses and maybe the homestay in the hills could have been swapped with something similar near Shianoukville to reduce this a bit. Another day at the beach mid trip would have been a bonus.Allow a few more days at each end of the trip to explore these 2 amazing cities.
Best of Cambodia opened our eyes to both the tragedy that Cambodia has experienced in the 1970’s and the resilience and recovery skills of the beautiful Cambodian people. It was a mind blowing culture shock as I had never been to Asia… but I loved every minute of it
Beaucoup de longs voyages mais vous verrez beaucoup. éviter la saison des pluies. l’humidité est l’intensité. Le guide était charmant. Oh et je n’aime plus le riz.
tours are really well structured, lots of free time, without the hassle of organizing hotels bus transfers or daily activities. Travelling in groups is safe and enjoyable.
The South East Asia trip was an amazing experience and I truly loved exploring the heart and soul of south east Asia. I feel as though you really get to see an authentic side of Asia you wouldn’t be exposed to if you travelled by yourself. You have dinner with families, visit remote villages off the beaten track and get the opportunity to talk to monks. Highlights during the trip included an overnight train from Bangkok to Chiangmai, early morning Alms with the monks, visiting an Elephant Sanctuary, a 2 day boat ride down the Mekong, cooking lessons, the beautiful sleepy Luang Prabang, the very chic Hanoi and all of Cambodia! I recommend the trip wholeheartedly. There are some parts of the trip I think you should brace yourself for, such as the overnight train in Vietnam and some very basic guest houses. However these experiences are all part of it.
Fantastic tour! Tour leader, Channa, was amazing. The tour was comprehensive and I was very happy with all the destinations it covered. Will travel again with Intrepid! 10/10!
Your guide makes the trip special and we were lucky. A small group. Lots of travelling. Not advised if your not good at walking. Angkor Wat amazing!
Our intrepid Classic Cambodia trip was amazing, we got to see amazing sites and meet some of the lovely Cambodian people
This organisation is great. I booked on Wednesday and my journey started at next Monday. And everything worked finde. My leader was awesome and my travel group very nice. I will definetly chose Interpridtravel again.
I have done 2 trips with Intrepid. In 2015 I did Grand Cuba and this year the Best of Vietnam and Cambodia. I really like their ethos and I have met great people on the trips. I have always loved travelling and it’s not always easy to find a good travelling companion. With Intrepid I don’t have to worry because there are always other solo travellers. On both occasions I have chosen to share a room and it worked out extremely well both times. The Intrepid guides I have met are superb and they also use extremely good local guides when necessary.
Great trip! Balanced activities! Great leader/tour guide on our Cambodia Adventure trip.
The trip was excellent and exceeded all expectations. I was impressed with intrepids approach to responsible tourism and our guide brought the Khymer culture to life. It was an amazing way to see Cambodia and to meet other people simultaneously. All of the optional activities were reasonably priced and fun; I liked that I had the opportunity to do them if I wanted or opt out if I fancied doing something different. I couldnt recommend the experience enough!
A truly amazing experience, one of many I hope with this company, well organised, plenty of correspondence when needed very professional and all seems to be with the intent to give you a lifetime experience for you to enjoy and remember, can,t say enough about my trip only I wish I had discovered this company years earlier
Intrepid offers a great overview of a country and takes the hassle out of getting from place to place but still gives you freedom during the day to do and see what you like. I love that all excursions are optional so I can decide what suits me best.
Absolutely loved my trip to Cambodia. A country of beautiful unspoilt people, amazing cultural and ancient religious sites, a tumultuous recent history, village life as you would have seen in old Asia, and we experienced it all thanks to our amazing tour guide Solimny and Intrepid.
I would have liked to have approximate times of internal flights mentioned in the initial itinerary.
Well organised plenty to do and see. Food and accommodation was good overall great trip.
Intrepid is a great value for money holiday. They have a great itinerary and everything was of organized beautifully. Just turn up and enjoy a fantastic holiday that’s organized for you. ????
Great trip met some interesting people
Fantastic tour, guide was helpfully, knowledgeable and personable. The local emotion and realisation of what these poor families went through and hearing from the local guides how it effected them and their families and even today how many are trying to re build. Highly recommend Intrepid
bring your own toilet paper! Takes a while to get used to the humidity, poverty and culture. All part of the experience of asia- busy- beautiful-crazy- friendly
Intrepid is value for money with great staff
The highlights were the sobering experience of visiting the Killing Fields and an awe inspiring visit to the historical splendour of Angkor Wat. A fantastic overall experience enhanced by an expert local tour leader.
Good trip with much included. However the lack of assistance in our free time ultimately left us wondering if the extra costs of coming with a group were entirely worth it.
Excellent standard of professional tour guide. Accommodation exceeded expectations. The trip has given me an excellent insight to the culture of Cambodia.
Our Cambodian food tour has been fantastic from start to finish. Put this on your to do list as the people are beautiful and welcoming, plus the food is fantastic.
The Cambodian Traveller is an excellent way to gain insight into a country with such a complex past and to understand the future challenges.
I really enjoyed this combo trip. While you do spend a lot of time on the road, this trip packs a lot of the highlights in and is very well organized. Definitely worth it.
We always find cash is king for the better money exchange rate.
The most enjoyable & knowledgable tour company I have travelled with allowing you to interact with the locals and their cultures while having a great holiday
Cambodia Discovery offered a real unique, inspiring outlook on this country. Prepare yourself for a sad shock about the history of this country but also prepare for a wondrous, culture-fed experience. Meeting and mingling with the locals was a heart-warming experience that I’ll never forget and the food was constantly delicious. A tour for all your senses and an opportunity to meet some wonderful new friends. Don’t forget to pack plenty of small US bills, and more importantly, a big smile.
This was my first organized tour and trip with Intrepid or any other tour company. I chose Intrepid after a lot of research and was not disappointed.
The tour was great – our leaders Ha and Channy were both amazing! We got to see a real range of places throughout the trip which I never would have seen travelling on my own. Missing the tour family! Would definitely recommend this trip to any first time travellers to this area 🙂
Love Intrepid tours and great value for money. The local guides have a great knowledge of their country and culture and sharing information helps me to understand and appreciate how others live in their country.
The use of local guides gives a great insight into the culture, history and way of life of your holiday destinations.
The Cambodia trip and tour was a great way to mix with people and get to know the locals. They are funny, very proud, generous and willing to help. Thanks intrepid for giving us a trip we wont forget. The highlight of the trip was hearing the personal stories from Khom about his trips. Also about his positive stories about his country.
Intrepid Tours is a great way to see the world if you want everything organised for you so you don’t have to think of anything and a way of making friends especially if you are a single traveller
Our experiences in Cambodia and Laos have left indelible memories. Everywhere we went, the people were charming, friendly and hospitable. We saw some amazing places, beautiful scenery and some thought-provoking monuments. We were challenged by the grim histories of both countries and could not help but admire the perseverance and resilience of various cultural groups we encountered.
I did the Best of Vietnam and Cambodia tour and loved every second of it. The places we went and the locals we met will stay with me forever and I cant stop talking about it with my friends and family.
Cambodia is a beautiful country recovering from a devastating past. The people are wonderful and the temples incredible. From floating villages to colourful night markets to local family businesses, with great food and even deep fried ice cream. Well worth a visit x
This trip is fantastic if you are wanting to see a lot in a short amount of time… It is fast paced and the bus rides are long but it is worth it. This trip also has a lot of ME Time which is great as it allows you go off and explore at your own pace. I loved it
Angkor Wat is a part of our world that I just can’t imagine not seeing for yourself, like other wonders of the world. The Khmer culture is fascinating and Intrepid’s Cambodia Express is a great way to experience it
Cambodia is a fascinating place to visit. Our Intrepid tour covered the countries history both good and bad which gave us a real understanding about the people and their culture.
A good way to see as much as possible in a limited time. A longer stay in some places is a better way to get a more in depth insight.
Put your faith in Trialfinders/ Intrepid, they will not let you down and you will have a trip of a life time.
Would highly recommend intrepid to other people and will be planning anther trip in the future.
The Cambodian Adventure we had was the best experience you could ever have! Value for money, invaluable memories & so much learnt about another way of life. There arent enough words to describe the best trip of my life!
I enjoyed the trip mostly due to an excellent tour guide.
Intrepid got us into the heart of Cambodia by offering a varied itinerary, an ideal guide and experiences we’d not have found on our own. We got to understand the value of tourism to off-the-beaten-track locations (while never feeling pushed to make purchases), and get first-hand accounts of the country’s history–both its grand ancient past and its more recent horrors. The trip was a wonderful mix of pure pleasure and meaningful education, a riot of sensual input around every corner.
If your wanting to go on a trip without the hassle of organizing and culture shock of planing a whole trip your self use intrepid travel and let them do the work and have fun.
Intrepid is a awesome company with likeminded people who are willing to see the real side of a country that you visit and step out of there comfort zone.
The guide (Mony) was excellent, Angkor Wat is impressive being large and 900 years old, and the trip good value. The humidity and heat saps the travellers strength and enjoyment of the region. Siem Riep/Angkor Wat are the main attraction.
The Cambodian Traveller is a great taster of Cambodia and there are parts of the country (the floating village in Kampong Luong) that you most likely wouldn’t see if you toured independantly.
Know that the tour is afvertised as 6 days but is actually only 4. Only 5 breakfasts 1 lunch and 2 dinners not really value for money. Too many optional activities that dont include transport or a guide
A fantastic way to see ‘real Cambodia’ as well as the major tourist spots. There is a bit of travel involved but the means of transport and accommodation are quite comfortable!
This tour allows you to visit various locations in Cambodia as well as a stay in Thailand and Vietnam at the start and end of the trip – presenting the opportunity to experience the culture of multiple nations all in one trip! You will have the opportunity to take part in various fun activities that should offer something for everyone to enjoy (should you wish of course). Cambodia is certainly a country worth visiting and this tour is a great way to do so!
This is a great trip. Everything from the sights to the places we visited to the restaurants we ate at made this a wonderful experience!
Make sure you have American Dollars… appropriate and respectful clothing… register with smart Traveller . and adequate medical cover… respect that you are a visitor to their country at all time … lastly LISTEN to your guide
This trip provides an excellent balance between organised activities and free time. You manage to see the major tourist sites but also visit some less popular spots where you see a real contrast between how people live and just how hard people need to work to eke out a living. Dino the guide is a champion!
The way to Go
Be careful with taxi drivers who try and rip you off
A great way to experience the sites, sounds and tastes of Cambodia, where we were made to feel very welcome. The trip has a packed itinerary but is well worth it.
If you consider travelling through Cambodia then you must consider intrepid. The tour leader Sakmony is a real asset for them and I wouldnt be surprised if he moves to a higher position in there company. He is the reason it was so good! Thank you
Tour is conducted in a professional manner with friendly competent guides, travellers not to feel worried or frightened to go on tour in Cambodia because they will be well looked after. What is asked by the tour to get organised prior to leaving their country is the correct equipment
All good, well organized and good value for money
come a few days early and stay a few days after it. After the tour has finished there will be people that were on your tour that will continue seeing the sites of the city you finish in so you still have a group so you wont feel alone.
This trip was packed with activities and locations which enabled us to experience the culture of the country and appreciate its extraordinary history.
Since I travel solo Intrepid is the only way to go. I have made lifelong friends from each trip and love that everything is organised for you . Plus the free time to explore if need be or to rest. I recommend Intrepid to everyone .
the INTREPID team have been very helpful and resourceful to find the trip that fits my interests. Communication was very easy, and the team incorporated changes and requests as we approached the trip dates. The trip itself, the local guide and the overall experience have been satisfactory and ticked all the boxes when it came to value for money, while respecting local culture and habits. I recommend Intrepid for my friends and colleagues, especially if you do not have time to plan for a long trips and multi-city tours.
It was the best tour, with a really knowledgeable and warm tour guide a good exposure to the country, its people, culture, religion and history. What I didnt expect was how much more I would be taken by the spirit and generosity of the people than the monuments themselves.
I have only taken one Intrepid tour, but found it excellent value and it provides a more accurate view of life in the place you visit – not all glitz and 5 star motels that don’t give the real picture of how it is in the country you are visiting. Thoroughly recommended.
Intrepid has again delivered what it does best ! Safely travelling to a lesser known beautiful part of the world, with local and knowledgeable guides, seeing the real culture, directing our tourist dollars to supporting local people and organisations helping the needy and disadvantaged through retraining and sustainable programs.
Having never done a trip like this before I was initially nervous about what to expect, but I really can say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. The activities we did and the people we met were all so varied and interesting – so much was packed into each day it all goes so quickly!! I would not hesitate to recommend this trip, it was brilliant!
I loved traveling with Intrepid! Our amazing tour leader was so passionate and had wonderful (and very sad) stories and amazing histories to share. It is so very rare that you leave a place feeling like it has honestly become a part of you, I absolutely loved Cambodia!
This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the culture and traditions of the true Cambodia. The insight gained from this trip is phenomenal. The homestay experience was one of he best and is honestly do it again, probably better than some of the hotels we stayed in lol. Great experience with new friends I will keep forever. You must do it!
Highly reccomend intrepid to all ages and all travellers. My tour ranged from age22-45 and we all got along so well. The attractions and culture in Cambodia is incredible and a must see. Angkor Wat is an unforgettable place!
great trip ,can be tiring because of the heat, take plenty of cool clothes, and a good camera
Awesome range of activities, very immersed in the local culture and supports local communities. Eco friendly ????
I strongly recommend this tour for those who want to have the first glance in the Southeast Asia culture.
Cambodia express was a great trip for someone who wants a great overview of Cambodia while still getting to experiences its differences from Thailand and Vietnam.
the highlights of this trip was the time we spent in Cambodia, fascinating, and the Thai banquet that our tour leader, Is, prepared for us on our first night in Thailand.
Cambodia & Vietnam were great destinations to come and explore, particularly given their rich histories & more importantly what these countries have indured during the last 50 years in modern times as such, people need to know their stories.
You wont be disapointed, intrepid cover everything thats needed to know, your never on your own, the tour guides are fantastic, they go over and beyond. The places travelled and knowledge received are the best. I loved every moment of the tour.
Amazing trip. The best of Cambodia lived up to its name. I had been looking forward to visiting Angkor Wat for many years and it did not disappoint. However this trip also taught me there is so much more to see and do. Other particular highlights of the trip included cycling in Battembang, the Sambor Prei Kuk temples and the island boat trip. Eating a tarantula was pretty memorable too.
I had a wonderful time meeting other fellow travellers and our tour guide for the cambodia express. It was a good introduction to the country. The homestay is a once in a lifetime experience. I felt very humbled staying together with the travellers in thr homestay. The locals had to source the ingredients in advance and cook everything fresh as it was far from the markets. If you come with an open mind and heart you will enjoy the country and the people
The highlights were the homestay on the Mekong, our guides cooking us their local cuisine for dinner and the whole of Cambodia! None of us wanted to leave Phenom Penh. Such a lovely city full of interest and intrigue.
This tour is a fabulous full on nonstop 3 weeks covering 3 countries. As it is a combination trip I have 3 different tour guides and 3 different groups. There was only one other person who I started in Bangkok with came all the way with me to Hanoi. It is a brilliant way to get an experience of these countries. There were many highlights from the moving Hellfire Pass to the beauty and tranquility of Angkor Wat at Dawn. Friendships have been formed and life time memories made.
Great itinerary to experience Cambodian culture/history. Ensure you visit Royal Palace & National Museum in Phnom Penh before tour as no time to do on day 4. I enjoyed a Tuk Tuk tour around Phnom Penh to feel ambience & see city, wonderful experience all tour, Intrepid has great tour leaders
Interesting trip but Siem Reap and Anghor Wat the highlights. The rest of Cambodia a little disappointing
Cambodia was amazing! Highly recommend the trip with intrepid to anyone. The people are friendly and the country with so much history is fascinating. I would love to return.
I cannot praise this experience enough. The trip supports responsible tourism to a high level. The tour guides are committed to ensuring the visit to Cambodia is both educational and interesting with the right level of humour. This trip was definitely one of the best I have ever done and I will be recommending both the company and the guide to anyone who asks. Well done Intrepid and Borey.
This trip was exactly what I wanted and expected. The inclusions were perfect and the optional activities suggested are also a must do. Ensure you immerse yourself in the culture. Sambath was an amazing tour guide!
Don’t hesitate to go on the Vietnam bike trip. It is wonderful. If you go on the Cambodia and Indonesia trip, be sure to pack biking clothes that can cover your shoulders and knees when you ride past temples that you want to explore. There wasn’t as much bicycling on the Cambodia/Indonesia portion of the trip as I would have liked. But it was made up for with the historic and cultural sites.
This tour enabled us to gain an excellent understanding of Cambodia, its history, influences culture and customs. The services of our local guide were outstanding in facilitating our adventure in Cambodia.
First trip with Intrepid and I loved it! There is a lot of travelling but balanced out well, time passes quickly. Take less than you need and use local laundry. Dont worry about public bus, its a comfortable coach. Hotels are good with kettles. Add the Vietnam trip on, I regret not doing.
On the last day the optional paid extra should have been the visit to the animal sanctuary and the included visit should have been the floating village as that more of a typical feature of the place. All of us opted for the floating village that we paid extra for and only about 4 went to the animal sanctuary. So typical and traditional features and sights of the place should be part of the included price and other visits made optional.
Well organised tour that provided local and historical visits and also made the holiday an enjoyable experience. An excellent trip with a tour guide whose knowledge was second to none and who catered and cared for his group with sensitivity and humour.
Cambodia Express is a very intense, full-on and fascinating experience. With well chosen excursions this short visit is an excellent introduction to Cambodia. If flying from afar, I would recommend adding on another trip in the region as an extension. I am sorry that I didn’t think to do so myself!
Very efficiently run. There was very little for me to do as Intrepid handled everything from beginning to end. I would recommend them for no fuss holidays.
A great way to experience The Best of Cambodia The trip title says it all. From temples to tuc-tucs! An opportunity to get insight into the culture, history and geography of Cambodia, this trip has a great variety of experience on offer.
We have taken two intrepid trips, Kathmandu to Delhi and Cambodia food tour both trips absolutely fabulous
You see quite a lot in a short period of time! There is a lot of time spent in small towns and rural areas. I loved the homestay. Angkor Wat at sunrise was stunning. I also learned so much about the history of Cambodia. Glad I went on this trip.
You can use a kettle to boil water in almost every place we stayed to reduce using single use plastic, let the water cool and put it in your own water bottle. Washing is easy and cheap to get done although don’t take fancy clothes as I ended up with an extra sock and pair of someone else’s underwear in my washes.
Cambodia was a real eye opener, from Phnom Penh to Ankor Wat, with our guide Borey informing us and looking after our needs the trip went way too fast. It also helped that the group we were with were a wonderful bunch of people of different nationalities. Thanks again Intrepid.
My wife and I had never used a tour group before and could not have been more impressed with our experience.
The Cambodia Adventure trip caters for all needs. The mandatory and optional trips were very interesting and had plenty of choice. Angkor Wat was one of the highlights of this tour and the Killing Fields was very eye opening, but interesting to hear about the history. I was so lucky to experience the Khmer new year also. Overall, an amazing experience!
I am not sure you want to tell them about the bedbugs and that I thought it was quite expensive for what was offered, especially the single room supplement is a joke when a whole room for a night cost no more than £10 on Booking.com
Read notes, prepare for time of year you are travelling, be aware of medical issues that may arise. And go to Cambodia – its a fantastic country.
This trip had a lot of unnecessary bus hours. If the purpose of the trip was to see Cambodia, I didnt see the need to start the je trip from Bangkok to spend one afternoon and then the next day, spend 10 hours in th bus to arrive to Cambodia. It would have been much better to strat and end the trip in different part of Cambodia. The other trip I did with Intrepid was to Vietnam. That one was much better organized, it started in Vietnam and ended up in Vietnam. This one needs improvement to maximize your time in the country.
Enjoy a journey through two contrasting countries. Memorable temples, stunning palaces and bustling streets. Sample different types of food. Experience life with a rural family for a night
The Cambodian Express allows you to truly experience Cambodia and is a refreshing way to holiday. You get a real feel for the place from the start as you travel through from one side of the border to the other. An eye opener as to “how the other half live”.
Cambodia Adventure is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in this beautiful country.
Cambodia basix tour is a great way to learn about the culture and history of Cambodia, and see a lot of destinations in a small amount of time. I really enjoyed this tour as you go from beach destinations, Angkor Wat to learning about the dramatic recent history of Cambodia in Phnom Penh. This trip is quite intense with a lot of travelling in a short amount of time, but it is worth it!
Well organised trips, good for those who like a certain level of independence in exlploring local culture and environment while the main structure is provided- travel and accommodation.
Tour much easier than as a solo traveller, saw much more.
Cambodia was more than what we expected. What an amazing country. The people and country are just beautiful. Our trip was really well managed and all families really got along well. Highlights were visiting temples as well as various villages, tasting a variety of different food. At times it was a little confronting due to the past history. Flexible itineraries allowed us to seperate if we didn’t want to do anything we thought was confronting. Overall a very enjoyable holiday.
amazing and eye-opening tour – there was some great history here
Classic Cambodia 6 day comfort tour. Excellent mix of recent (Pol Pot), and ancient history (Angkor Wat). Quality hotels and good mix of provided meals and opportunities to eat locally. PK was an awesome tour guide – very knowledgeable and nothing was any trouble. Only 12 in the group which was great.
Excellent trip. Really enjoyed the cycling to get off the beaten track and see the real Cambodia you don’t see from the bus. Kayaking the flooded forest was also very beautiful and peaceful.
Interesting trip, good value for money, helpful guide
Can’t wait to book in for our next family trip – really engaging for everyone in the family. Cambodia was a sensation.
A good way to see a short, deep view into Cambodia
Travelled with Intrepid on three occasions and they have all been well organised and led by the tour leaders. Two of these trips have been cycling tours. Top tip is to take your own comfortable saddles. Like me, you may be a regular cyclist, but not on roads and trails like they have in Vietnam and Cambodia.
This trip offered all the highlights of Cambodia as well as a fantastic chance to experience local life and learn about Cambodia’s history. A fantastic trip that’s great value for money!
The tour was really good in that you get to see real Cambodian life in the villages where tourists are few and far between. Tour is a good pace, a couple of long bus trips, but otherwise a good combination of activities. You don’t need to be overly fit, but be prepared for rocky terrain on the 60km cycle! All up, a great tour.
Some aspects of Cambodia were eye-opening and others humbling. The effects of the Khmer Rouge are long lasting. The food though is unique to the region and well worth exploring.
Our Intrepid trip around Cambodia was amazing. The home stay and bike ride around the local village were highlights. Traveling in a developing country wasnt always easy but our local tour leader really helped us to feel at ease and gave us information about his country that enriched our holiday in a way we could never had got traveling by ourselves. Traveling with a group of people was also fun and we made some good friends by the end of the trip. A truly memorable holiday.
Cambodia and Laos were exceptional made even more enjoyable by our Guide Sambath Meas.
An absolutely incredible trip with opportunities you could never get on your own that you get to share with new friends.
Real food Cambodia is a good introduction to a country that has had more than its fair share of tragedies and is still recovering from them. The people are warm and friendly, and the food is unique to the region.
Our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia was fun! Very interesting places visited. Hotels were centrally located so made it easy to get out and about on our free time. We were kept very busy. Our guides were great and fun to be with.
This trip covered a lot of ground, it was interesting and varied. With this came a lot of time on buses.
The only little thing I didn’t like was the home stay there are 50 home stays in the village yet I had to share one small room with 5 other people a little extreme other than that amazing trip you will love it
Cambodia is nothing like you have encountered before – the people are wonderful, the food is simple but delicious.
You won’t go wrong with this tour if you would like to visit Cambodia.
Thanks again for the good arrangement by your company.
I would not hesitate to recommend this tour for someone Cambodia touring needs.
The trip included a well-organized blend of activities that allowed me to leave with a better understanding of Cambodian history and reality. Getting to know our guide, Channy, was a big part of that. If you want an active travel experience that goes beyond sightseeing, this trip is a great option.
The best trip of my life. Bicycle is the best way to explore the mekong delta and interact with locals. Don’t worry about your level of fitness, even if you think you can’t do it all, do it anyway and sleep in the van when you get tired.
A superb trip combining the main tourist highlights of Phnom Penh and Angkor with going off the tourist trail and seeing the real Cambodia. The cycling, hiking and kayaking is not that physical but expect to be saddle sore after riding 60 kms on dirt roads on a mountain bike!
I would highly recommend u to all travelers..i would recommend Sum as a tour guide to everyone of my friends an people i dont even know
If your going to Cambodia try to get tour guide Chan Ly you will find him to be very knowledgeable, great organisation, very helpful and not to mention a great sense of humor too. Highly recommended
It was well organised. Special thanks to my Sapa guide (Sang ?),I hope I got that right. All trips has it moments .but I totally rate this whole adventure. Nice work to everyone involved. Well done. Troy.
Intrepid are a great way to go with these Asian countries, there guides are very knowledgeable about wherever you go. I found there tour guides go beyond there jobs to accommodate everyone on their tours which is very comforting in a strange country.
There’s a lot of bus/travel time but once you get to the destination the sights are great and so is the knowledge of the tour guides
This trip, which I have been planning since watching the horrific events in the 70s on Blue Peter ( a UK kids programme) exceeded my expectations in every way. Firstly we had the best guide on the planet – Keasar Hong, ably aided by locality guides – a special mention goes out to Jonny the Rat at Ankor, and drivers. We also had the beautiful country with its friendly people and amazing monuments. Please go and support this country in particular need of the tourist dollar.
It is important that the travelers read all the documentation to ensure the style of tour suits them. Intrepid provide basically the same itinerary in different comfort styles. I chose the Basix because it gave me more flexibility to pursue my interests and private tours without the constriction of a full itinerary of tours and meals.
A great opportunity to experience the rich history and recent turmoil of 2 beautiful countries
Very educational tour combining the awe of ancient Angkor with the modern atrocities of the Kmer Rouge. Siem Reap has a lot of opportunities for shopping, eating and partying!
A fantastic trip that covers the best of Cambodia, including lots of sites, activities and foods. Knowledgeable guide who shared his love of his country and his knowledge of geography, history and politics. Totally recommended if you want to get a real (not just a lay around on the beach or by the pool and drink cocktails type holiday) experience of the country and the people.
Fantastic journey through the heart of Cambodia. This trip is excellent value for money especially as local knowledge is priceless. Be prepared for long travel days, the rewards at each destination are worth it!
This tours takes you all over Cambodia! Be ready for long trips by boat, bus, van. The photo opportunities you will experience are incredibly beautiful. The bike tour is something you cannot miss! I am almost 50, and learned to ride a bike just to be able to enjoy this tour. Mr. Sakmony was a terrific tour guide and the best photographer! Ankor Wat is a good as advertised. The floating villages are surreal. The bamboo rice on the road is delicious. I can go on and on. I highly recommend this trip.
A very rewarding experience culturally and personally. This trip has helped and provided me time to reflect on life. It helped me put things into perspective and how 1 trip such as this can actually leave a lasting memory that I will treasure forever.
Just embrace it. I usually travel 4 star but this wasn’t 4star but just loved it.
Excellent introduction to Cambodia and Vietnam- plenty to go back and see more but made it the most of the whirlwind time frame. Fun, informative, attentive and organised local leaders made incredible guides during the journey.
Expect to be amazed.. Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia are four of the most amazing places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, and this Trip had me re-visiting Vietnam for a 2nd time. Every time I’ve visited this region I’ve come away feeling energized and Inspired by the people I’ve met and the things I’ve seen, so…. Yeah, expected to be amazed. And expect to have your preconceptions blown. These places may have dark streaks in their history but the people and places are bright and beautiful.
excellent organisation and excellent value for money
The people are beautiful, the history and culture is rich, the country is scarred by ubiquitous rubbish
Great tour which exposes you to a large part of Cambodia. The home stay was incredible – the perfect way to get to know Cambodian home life.
“Same, same but different” from the beauty of the temples to the horrors of the genocide, Cambodia is a country of contrasts. The country is in the process of recovery but still has huge hurdles. You see the best of Cambodia and have a friendly welcome wherever you go.
Keep an open mind, you are travelling in order to experience another culture so do not compare to your own country. Embrace it, it’s a wonderful way to see the world.
We had an amazing trip to Cambodia, it was our first tour group, our guide was amazing, our tour buddies will become lifelong friends.
Highly recommend travelling with Intrepid tours. Our guide Bun was awesome and really helped to make our trip a memorable one.
Have an open mind with this attitude you will embrace and enjoy the beautiful country that is Cambodia
Don’t book wIth tourradar they are money grabbers and withhold the true
Well organised, great having local tour leaders, prefer comfort to basix but all choices are really good value.
Cambodia encompassed wasa great way to experience cambodia, we seen quite an extensive amount places and activities and would recommend it, this first tour for us to cambodia has helped us fall in love with the country, the people were very friendly and happy, it was a relaxing a beautiful country to see.
WE were concerned going to Cambodia as we had never travelled so far before, now I cant wait for our next trip,as it all went so smoothly.
Don’t hesitate! You won’t be disappointed! The guides are top notch and love their jobs. I usually travel solo but with the small number of travelers I still felt that I had as much time on my own as I wanted. The accommodations were very nice. I can’t wait to take my next trip with Intrepid.
Great trip, confronting at times regarding the impact of war and genocide, UXO’s. A very good look at culture of Cambodia and Laos. I greatly admired the ingenuity and endurance of the locals
Our guide Dyka was great. The itinary was good. The food on this trip can be amazing if you do the homework as to where ans what to eat. Be ready for the home stay where you have to share room with others. Pack a wipes if you don’t think you can use local well water to rinse yourself. Be open minded and flexible!
Able to get on well with fellow travellers. Be interested in the culture of country you are visiting
Phnom Pehn – get to know the history of the people of Cambodia. Siem Reap – get to see some of the most hauntingly beautiful sites in the world. Whole trip – interact with local people and you’ll be rewarded, Cambodians are the most friendly people I have ever met and they value the fact you are visiting their country.
Traveling with Intrepid is a fantastic way to see other countries. The guides have local knowledge and give you many tips. They direct you to wonderful restaurants etc. The environmental aspects of Intrepid and how they try to help the local communities are very important to me.
Intrepid travel take the frustration out of travelling by using their experience to give their travellers a safe hassle free holiday without to much thinking. Very enjoyable.
The tour was great. Cambodia is such an untouched country in SE Asia. Long the tour guide was fantastic. He loved his country and it really showed in his offer to show and allow us to eat everything! The experiences we did and saw was amazing. it was a great taste of Cambodia. Can not wait to go back!
I’m extremely glad I booked my tour of Cambodia through Intrepid! They prepared me with very detailed information regarding the countries I was traveling to prior to my trip, which helped me research everything I wanted to do. Our tour guide Dyka was awesome! I couldn’t have imagined a better experience than what I had.
I highly recommend Intrepid. The small group size (10 – 12) makes the trip so much more enjoyable compared to other organisations who have 40+ such as topdeck. Intrepid really gets into the local part of things which is an experience not to be missed. There is a perfect balance of optional tours and free time to wander. This trip could not have been any better. An unforgettable experience. I absolutely love that the guides are local I mean how good is that?!!!! Its not some Aussie who has no clue. Cannot wait to do intrepid again. THANK YOU.
Intrepid is a great facilitator provides what they promise and allows for freedom to explore on your own.
Well organised and informative tour would highly recommend Cambodia Laos encounter great group of people
A superb guide made this a fascinating trip.
An absolutely fantastic trip. Such a beautiful country with amazingly generous people. The horrific events of the Khmer Rouge is still evident but not brushed & hidden away. It is shown for current and future generations to learn from. My first trip with Intrepid & I am already planning my next.
Fantastic tours, so inclusive, great friendly guides with so much knowledge. Highly recommend.
Just the normal advice for travel………..pack light, be prepared for experiences outside your comfort zone and don’t be judgemental regarding other cultures.
The trip gave a wonderful overall experience of Cambodia from it’s modern day history to its ancient past. l really feel that I have experienced the culture and the people on an intimate level.
be prepared to pay out for many meals
Intrepid was a very professional tour and our guide Sam went above and beyond each and every day. Everything was handled very professionally and they couldn’t have been more helpful. It was a massive worlwind holiday but the temples and countryside we saw was spectacular.
Taking an Intrepid tour for the first time. We were very unsure. Yet it took all the stress out visiting another country. Giving great information and also tips on where to eat etc.
Cambodia is a wonderful place with wonderful people but is a challenging place to travel due to recent political history and underdeveloped infrastructure. Best suited to those who have already travelled and have had some exposure to developing nations as otherwise might be quite a shock in parts.
Cambodian experience was amazing!! Our tour leader, Dino, was so friendly, helpful and funny. His tips for things to do on free days were always top notch and his willingness to go above and beyond expectations was unmatched
Ask for Sam as your tour guide and you are guaranteed an amazing trip!
A fantastic trip with a great guide. Definitely worth it.
loved this trip as part of 2 weeks with Vietnam. Flying from locations meant we got more sightseeing, down time and fun times – so it was worth the investment of this trip. Loved it.
Intrepid was a fantastic way to go travelling without the hassle of finding transport, accommodation and activities myself. The itineraries are full and offer a range of activities to suit a variety of tastes.
An excellent trip of Cambodia and Laos, covering the history and highlights of both countries. I felt we had good interaction with local people and customs.
An amazing trip which gives a great snapshot of both countries. Highly recommend for anyone unsure of how to tackle Cambodia & Laos, it has given us the confidence to go back later and revisit the places we missed and spend more time in the places we really loved.
Such an amazing adventure! I am so happy that I chose to go to Cambodia – I absolutely loved getting to know the people, the culture, and the food. It was my first time traveling with Intrepid and I am very impressed. All of the activities were well planned and they really stressed responsible tourism. Our tour guide was fabulous – very informative and personable. If you search the internet for Cambodian food and see a bunch of fried tarantulas, don’t let that scare you. Although we did have the opportunity to try some of the more eclectic food items, there’s more to Cambodian cuisine than that! Don’t hesitate to book this trip – you’ll love it!
We loved the local way of life the happy lovely people, the free and happy lifestyle that children had in a supporting village atmosphere. Best advise would be to take advantage of your guide knowledge and be willing to step outside your comfort zone.
Fantastic trip that offers all the attractions this wonderful country has to offer. With using public transport on occasions and simple but clean hotels you get to understand and experience this country as closely as possible in the safe and fun environment of the group with an experienced leader. I thoroughly recommend this trip.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Cambodia discovery tour. Rous (Mao) our tour leader was so enthusiastic and friendly and made the whole experience great! She is very knowledgeable about Cambodian culture, history and the best food! It was a pleasure to have been shown around in the beautiful country and I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone !
I would highly recommend an intrepid tour to anyone who wants to travel. I would consider it to be the most efficient, cost-effective and immersive way to experience another country. The information you receive from your tour guide is invaluable, whether it be about the history of the country or where the best places to eat are! It’s also a great way to meet new people. I really enjoyed travelling with a group, and by the end we had made some great friends. Without the tour, I don’t believe I would have organised half of the amazing activities that were included. 5 stars!!
Intrepid were great, from the moment I booked with them they were so informative, kept in touch offering transfers/extra hotel nights outside of the tour to help us with our planning! The tour was described as basic but it was definitely not – so much better than that in terms of accommodation and travel! The optional activities are so much fun so make sure to do them all! All round fantastic
Super time, amazing group and leader!
If you want to book a trip that leaves you more cultured with lasting memories you share with amazing people, book intrepid!
As a senior traveller I went with Intreped as a secure way to see places I have had little exposure to previously. I was not dissapointed. As to fitness I found I needed to refer to climate more than I expexted
Intrepid guides in my experience have been very competent. I have travelled with other companies , but from here forward I will try always to go with intrepid. The organisational skills of the guides are good and are local .
Don’t be afraid, you can do it. I was able to ride the whole tour even without cycling experience (but with average Fitness Level). A great itinerary and a great tour leader!
The Cycle Indochina trip is a great way to see local life up close. You can see, hear and smell local life… I took my own bicycle seat which ensured I was comfortable on the bike, others had brought gel covers, which is a good idea if you aren’t used to hard seats. The pace of the trip is good and you don’t need to be ultra fit to do this trip as there are no significant climbs, except for the 2km to the top of the dam wall on the last day (if doing the trip in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to BKK) which is manageable as it is not too high or too far. The leader and other staff were great and ensured cyclists of all abilities got the most out of the trip.
Well organised, well led, well supported. A respectful introduction to the history, culture and natural diversity of 2 breathtaking countries.
I feel Cambodia and Laos is an excellent tour and it shows you the unbelievably cruel and devestating lasting effect war and the Pol pot regime has left on the entire population.
This was a great introduction to Cambodia with plenty of activity during the day and at night. The quality of the guides enabled us to get a great feel for the culture, meet the people and gain a real understanding of the history of Cambodia.
A wonderful family experience. A busy itinerary enabled us to see much of gorgeous Cambodia in a short period. The balance between family time and group time was quite perfect, and our tour leader was a truly lovely man. Thank you!
This was our first group trip and I cannot fault Intrepid in any way. Our guide, Sum was amazing, which allowed us to trust him, relax and enjoy the ride. We had a diverse group who became a cohesive, fun group. We would travel with Intrepid again. – The way to see the real country and people in an active way.
A great way to see Asia and to get fit. Ours was a small group of 3. The cycling was enjoyable with mostly great road conditions. The hotels were of a great standard. I am so pleased that I took this trip. A decent level of fitness is advisable, however support is there when/if needed. Enjoy. Carpe Diem
Had a great time in Cambodia on the hike, bike and kayak trip! The trip was not to hard so if you are normal fit it shouldnt be a problem. Be ready for some serious sweating though! Loved biking through the countryside and meet all the lovely locals and see how they live.
Don’t be put off by activities. We are in our fifties and we managed to do it!
A tour with a wide range of activities – never boring. A great mix of adventure, amazing food and less strenuous exploration and learning!
The family trip to Cambodia provided a well thought out itinerary for children including a wide variety of interesting cultural experiences and fun activities. I believe my daughter’s curiosity and understanding of the place was enhanced by being able to share her ideas with other children.
A good trip but would consider it as quite leisurely for the most of it. only the kayak and final bike ride required a higher fitness level — take a book for the homestay night .
this was a fabulous trip. We managed to get into the country and see a variety of landscapes. Activity days were well paced and great support offered.
The oportunity to have a more cultural and responisble trip , made of this trip, something really special. Our tour leader helped us to feel very touched by the country and its people. Sport, culture, religion, tourism, and real contact with the world. nothing better you can find!!!
I could understand and appreciate the country´s treasures. Lots of things to see, do, taste and ,of course, wonderful smiles all along! Thanks to our tour leader for being so helpful and open-hearted.
Our Intrepid tour was fantastic from start to finish and we were lucky enough to have the best guide/leader possible. Highly, highly recommended.
Highly recommend Cambodia culture people tour food safety
