This was wonderful trip, everyday was packed with adventures. Holy Land has fascinating history and travelling there may help understnding the people who lived ther more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Israel and Palestinian trip. Our guide made the journey interesting and we learnt so much about a country we had only ever seen on the news. The history and culture make Israel a top go to destination and Intrepid made it easy and fun for us.
This trip is incredibly insightful. Israel and Palestine hold a vast amount of religious history and the political uniqueness. This trip allows you to explore so many cultures and religions at once. Our tour guide Ghaleb was great!

Good Value Well organized Food was acceptable Transportation was good may insist that the Ice coolers in the bus are working
excellent intro to israel. remember to cover up though ladies. would have preferred one included night in tel aviv as part of the trip and not as an ending. Masada is incredible.
Israel & the Palestinian Territories – hot comfortable safe and fun. Suddenly the biblical map in my head came to life with how places related to each other. The melting pot of religions was fascinating, weaving lives side by side yet keeping tight boundaries. Jerusalem Old City was exciting to wander, Masada moving to encounter, ancient sites touching to tread, food excellent. Border crossings far easier than expected but one group member had a long hold up exiting Tel Aviv for enquiries of previous passport stamps. Stay calm and enjoy.
Intrepid offer a variety of great destinations suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The smaller sized groups (12-16) work well with organizing activities making it easier to visit sites, individual assistance if needed, very knowledgeable guides and a personable approach.
If you want to experience the delights of Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian hospitality and cuisine, learn more about the complexities of the political situation in the middle east, explore the historic ruins at Petra and pretend to be Lawrence of Arabia while you sleep under the stars in the Wadi Rum desert, then this is the trip for you. A truly memorable feast for all the senses!
Great 4 days based in Jerusalem and 2 in Nazareth. Both lovely cities. Full days learning of religion and history a bit overwhelming. A bit more free time would be good
Great trip! Super interesting country – the programme is very intense in Jerusalem. So prefer for a lot of information. Add extra days in Tel Aviv for some fun and beach time.
Fabulous experience with an excellent guide who was super organised, knowledgeable and fun. Felt safe at all times and had an experience of a life time.
An excellent trip packed with iconic ancient Christian sites but with exposure to the current Israeli Palestinian situation as well
I signed up for the 14-day combined Jordan and Israel tours. Later I noticed there were opportunities to float in the Dead Sea in both countries which I thought was repetitious and unnecessary. However, I ended up floating on both trips and enjoyed it both times (although I decided to not cover myself with mud on either occasion).
This is the prefect trip to get a glimpse of Israel, an introduction to the history of the country once there and to have a balanced view of the various religions that are represented. I felt like Id gone back in time as all the bible stories I grew up with came to life. Its a moving trip and I felt there was the right balance of excursions. The food is also amazing, especially as a vegetarian – can never have too much humous, flalfel or tahini Ive discovered! Its left me wanting to know so much more about Israel.
This is a short trip, but has a lot packed in. I think the pilgrims in our group enjoyed visiting the important religious sites, and those of us interested in the historical aspects were also satisfied. I liked being able to stay in each hotel for 2-4 nights. The food was great. In a short trip like this, it is difficult to get more than a brief overview of the Palestinian/Israeli issues, which are so important to the people living there.
Travelling in a small group really is the way to go. Intrepid gets you from point A to B, takes you to all the best things, but also gives you free time to do your own thing as well. Safe, interesting and great fun!
Great trip, plenty to see
If you want an incredible, insider’s view of Jerusalem and Israel, and an enlightening, powerful view-changing experience of Israel, then this trip is for you.
I think Intrepid has a lot of travel opportunities for people that want more adventurous trips. One thing I would like to suggest for the walk through Wadi Rum is that it would be a good idea to have walkie talkies for the tour leader and the driver of the safety car. We had a situation in our group where we needed the safety car and it took a while before the tour leader could get the driver’s attention to come back and pick up the person having difficulty. Walkie talkies would be a fairly inexpensive way to add another level of safety for travellers.
The Jewish guide in Jerusalem really did not answer many questions, he said, he will do it later but that never happened. Mahdi was very good, very patient respectful and considerate.
The visit to Petra involves much walking to see what’s to be seen – suggest the degree of walking needs to be indicated better on the website
Excellent introduction into a fascinating part of the world. Our local Palestinian guide Hasan was incredibly knowledgeable about the geography, history and politics of the area, and provided very objective insights despite living in a challenging part of the world.
Really interesting tour of the Holy Land, I learnt a lot about the history and culture of the area. The first couple of days involve a lot of walking, but it does get easier after that! Going in July was tougher because of the heat, but it does mean the queues for the sites are much shorter. Overall, a great experience, I’d highly recommend it for anyone who is curious about this part of the world.
Does that include Geckos Tours?
