If you want to experience a completely different way of life then this company is for you. They provide modern facilities but have you integrated in a new culture from the country sides to the big cities. I especially like when we have a chance to visit the foundations that they support.
You wont be disappointed you chose Intrepid. Local knowledge, real up and personal experiences and the best guides you could encounter.
You wont be disappointed you chose Intrepid. Local knowledge, real up and personal experiences and the best guides you could encounter.
Absolutely Amazing!!! Delhi to Goa was my first Intrepid trip and I loved it. Every place was unique and every day got better and better. Definitely worth going!!! We did all the included activities and almost all of the optional ones too, our only time of relaxing was in the evening having dinner as a group but I wouldn’t of had it any other way, it’s such an amazing experience.
Intrepids network of teams working locally in countries like India are top notch and can be relied upon to deliver a world class service that truly makes you know what its like to visit their shores. All the details are taken care of and the commitment to delivering a total package to us the travelling public is first class. I would have no hesitation recommending Intrepid to any prospective traveller
Traveling with Intrepid through India was an incredible experience. It was wonderful to see how committed they are to responsible tourism and supporting local communities, and was great to feel a part of that. The trip was also a great mix of adventure, free time and cultural experiences. I’d highly recommend it to anyone considering traveling to India!
Unforgettable trek through India and Nepal. Camping on the banks of the Ganges was a real highlight. Food was excellent and guide made everything great. Ive travelled solo many times but I couldnt have done India alone, intrepid made it easy while taking us well out of the crowded tourist areas.
A great trip. The tour made a number of great sites and ceremonies very accessible and enjoyable, making for a truly memorable experience.
India Gold Triangle is amazing Take comfortable shoes and clothes for the visits Go to India with an open mind and leave your western standard out to appreciate this wonderful country
Excellent trip. Only downside was the weather – brutally hot in summer. If I could do this again, I’d definitely do it in winter.
India would have to be the most facinating country we have visited and Rajastan is definitely a must see. Initially, my wife and I was a bit apprehensive about visiting India but with the help of our guide Sukhjot (Suki) and Intrepid we had a wonderful time. The people, colours, aromas and history is amazing. There were many highlights! Our tip is to go to India with no expectations and with an open mind and you will have a wonderful time. Definitely one for the bucket list. Alan and Aleena Chung
I really enjoyed this tour. It covered all of the necessary tourist locations in Northern India, as well as some more off-the-beaten-track experiences that really enhances our experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to visit India, but isnt quite sure where to start. Just make sure you read the detailed version of the trip itinerary (particularly the information on tipping practises and seasonal changes to the itinerary). Also be aware that tourists can be somewhat of a commodity in India, and if you are uncomfortable with your photo being taken by complete strangers in the street, particularly at large tourist attractions such as the Taj Mahal, then this may not be the trip for you.
We have traveled to 8 countries with Intrepid and wouldn’t ever consider using any other company for travel. Their commitment to responsible travel and in ensuring travelers experience the culture of the country they are visiting, is no joke and not just talk!
Visiting India is definitely not for the faint-hearted; you must have a lot of reserve and patience as well as a strong sense of humor. At the same time, visiting India was an amazing and eye-opening cultural experience where you are able to learn a great deal about local customs and religious practices. I had great interactions with locals and saw breathtaking monuments and ruins. Be weary of the heat and know your limits when it comes to lengthy travel days via bus and overnight train.
Such a good overview of Indias north and into Nepal. Glad that I went the Delhi to Kathmandu route as you get to have a bit of Downtime at the end of the trip rather than finishing ehhi it is busy and some long days at the beginning of my trip. Overall would recommend it for anyone wanting a taste of India and Nepal
We were pleasantly surprised as first time users of intrepid travel…our guide, Alan, was fantastic as were our fellow travellers. Great value for money and sad it’s ended??
My first intrepid trip and my first to india, I recommend it to anyone who is interested in india and its culture
Intrepid provides a cultural experience which at all times is responsible and respectful to the country you are visiting. The guides are local, friendly and enthusiastic about what they do. I respect the way intrepid create an experience which is beneficial to the community not detrimental.
More than i ever expected So memorable Great introduction to india and makes u get a feel for it alongside having the comfort level of tour.
My first trip with Intrepid was a very enjoyable experience, Intrepid go all over the world so it was a great option when I decided to go to India, great value for money but also great hotels and included activities! Amazing optional activities also! Had an amazing time with Intrepid!
This trip is fantastic value for money, the guides are helpful and kind. Best way to explore india quickly and on a budget.
I really enjoyed travelling with intrepid. I was a little hesitant to travel around India as a solo female traveller so I booked a tour and I am so glad that I did. It eliminated any sort of stress and I was just able to enjoy the country. Definitely recommend!
Travelling with intrepid was really amazing. You don’t just rush from place to place. You actually get the time to explore and get as much local experience as possible.
Read the notes before booking, use 1 big backpack/1 Small, dont overpack. Good balance of activities and free time. Travel times very long.
Lovely small groups of all ages, we loved our group and tour leader and overall our trip was amazing. Accommodation and transport were fantastic, we will be traveling with Intrepid again!
Intrepid delivers what it advertises and the cost is very reasonable for the choices /styles of travel.
This trip is simply amazing. You don’t just get to see these parts of India, you get to feel them, experience them. It’s confronting. The wonderful chaos and beauty of it all. India will leave a stamp on your hart.
India is an amazing, vibrant and colourful country, teeming with life and culture. You cannot fail to fall in love with India.
We loved our trip to Rajasthan with Intrepid. Great culture and such wonderful people. Our group leader was fantastic and we will be returning to India in the future. Our tip for future travellers is ” Smile, be happy and soak up the culture”.
Stay open minded, view everything as an experience, and have no great expectations.
Discover amazing India and Nepal! Counties are very contrasting. If you worried about hygiene believe me that many of that fears and stereotypes, during our trip nobody had health problems, but all of us are full of vivid impressions:)
Fantastic first experience with intrepid! Cycling around Rajasthan was definitely one of the best holidays I have ever been on!
Cycle Rajasthan is iconic India experienced up close and personal. Cycling on back roads through villages and experiencing local hospitality and welcomes were a highlight. This is the last trip before summer. Some very hot temperatures but cycling done early in the day to avoid the heat of the day. Support crew is a hugely appreciated part of the trip. Our bus driver made us feel like we were in very safe hands. I would highly recommend this way of experiencing Rajasthan and its beautiful people.
Fantastic trip and Maddy was a great leader. Wonderful to see the contrasting destinations along the route and compare the big cities with the rural villages.
The Delhi to Goa trip is an awesome way to explore India in two weeks as you get to see the main attractions like the Taj Mahal but you also get to explore hidden gem places as well that are not full with tourists! I would highly recommend all the optional activities on this trip as they were all very interesting and enjoyable! Our tour guide Sana Jinah was an exceptional tour guide and I would highly recommend her as she is very knowledgeable about India and very helpful and organised!
I found Intrepid, and our tour leader, Mukendra, to be wonderful! We had so much fun, and were cared for so well. I could not thank Intrepid or Mukendra enough for this life changing experience.
Traveling with intrepid is something you for sure won’t forget. You will have a wonderful experience and at the same time learn so many things about the country you are visiting!
Traveling with Intrepid was a joy. They handled everything, and all I had to do was pack my small backpack and show up. I really loved how in touch with the locals we were, from riding on local trains to evening walks through villages. I feel that I experienced the true culture of India, rather that being isolated as a tourist. Thank you Intrepid for a fabulous vacation. I will be traveling with you again, for certain!
I knew I had made the right decision to travel with Intrepid again the minute we had our first group meeting. I enjoyed the sights and sounds of India with a knowledgeable guide, an amazing group (great size group too) and I got to interact with locals in a way I couldnt have done on my own! This will be the second of many more Intrepid trips #BeIntrepid
The South north india trip is a great way to sample what india has to offer in 29 days. Fair warning this is not for the faint of heart there is so much put into the 29 days it feels like a lot longer but if you’re willing to take the plunge it is a trip you won’t forget.
Fascinating trip, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Highly reccommended for anyone who want to see a different side to India.

Its a mad 15 days covering a huge distance, but all the travel is worth it, every destination was amazing, crazy & totally unique. India I love you ??
This tour felt like a family and we saw and did incredible things. Our guide, Miku, went out of his way to give us the best experience. His knowledge was extensive and he would arrange anything we wanted. I would travel with Intrepid again and I was sad when the tour was over. I have made lifelong friends in this trip.
Intrepid is a great travel company. Great tours and great guides or leaders.
This tour made for a truly enchanting, intense and amazing first trip to India. Monsoon season meant the sea was unsafe to swim in, but it was still a wonderful trip including excellent food, stunning sights and memorable journeys. We saw so much it surpassed all my expectations- thank you Santo!
Trip exceeded all expectations, everyday was different Classic Rajasthan is a great mixture of cities and out of the way villages. Tip, if you cant cope with 40+ degrees avoid May.
Absolutely loved our trip. Before booking your trip ensure you read the trip notes so you are aware of what you are getting yourself into!! And be prepared to experience all that is offered to you so you have the best time ever.
Amazing experience in Nepal and India. Trip was exactly as advertised and operation was extremely smooth
I started travelling with intrepid 8 years ago, completed 10 trips with them and will continue next year to Antarctica, just enjoy their style and trip format with small groups, options, plenty of free time and amore ground level experience with the local people
If you want to see a different India, this is a great trip. Get away from the ‘big’ sights and see some amazing places – mountains, temples, monkeys and more. If you’ve been to India before, but haven’t been north of Delhi, then book this trip!
Fantastic trip! A chance to see big destinations in India but also to get off the beaten path and spend time with locals.
Amazing place, exceeded our expectations and Saurabh made our trip a pleasure. Highlights were Taj Mahal, Ranthambore where we saw Tigers at close quarters and Agra Fort but too many great times to mention!
This trip combines the highlights of the area with a feeling of down-to-earth real tourism and just the right level of comfort; it was everything I wanted and more.
Fantastic experience for us both from start to finish we had a fab group of people on our 10 day tour and a fabulous guide to show us the real India
Travelling with Intrepid is a good choice referring to the organisation and a good price/ service ratio.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, our guide was fantastic and I was fortunate that our group was so lovely. It was a great way to experince Nepal and India, and as a female solo traveller I felt safe, and enjoyed a hassle free holiday. HIghlights for me included the Taj Mahal, Orchha’s red fort and old temple. I would definitely recommend this trip.
Travelling to a new destination with an intrepid guide takes the sting out of the unknown. There is never a dull moment when traveling with a group, meeting someone to share the experience with is easy. There is also ample time to lose yourself and experience the day by yourself in your new destination.
Go with our guide! Alan Hongsha for a wonderful trip!
Pick your time of year carefully, India in May is not a good idea!
This is an event-packed trip that combines the classic destinations of the Taj Mahal, a game reserve and Jaipur with less travelled destinations where tourists are still a novelty and small town life is seemingly unchanged by the modern world.
As a solo female traveller, I always felt safe, the groups are small and I got to make some wonderful friendships. The Hotels were very comfortable and clean and the places we visited were amazing. India is such a place of sensory overload… but that’s why we travel, isn’t it?
Be prepared to have all your pre-conceived ideas about India blown out of the water! Be transported back in history as you visit various temples and forts and marvel at centuries-old, unparalleled architecture unlike anything you have seen before! Even take in a Bollywood movie!
I would highly recommend Intrepide Travel for a hassle free but authentic trip
A great introduction to India with amazing experiences that help you truly immerse yourself in Indian culture and traditions from Bollywood movies and dancing to ceremonies and music on the Ganges.
I will recommend this trip! The itinerary was great! Mahaveer was a great leader!
Intrepid was a awesome trip, meeting great people along the way. Really got to understand the culture and they cope. Tour leader had a vast knowledge base and was able to inform on anything we wanted to know or would find out for us if she didn’t! Was very helpful. All in all great trip.
A great way to experience India. Intrepid took the potential stress about of a solo trip to India but managed to retain all of the authenticity and richness of experience that the country has to offer.
Know that with Intrepid, you will be well looked after. Your safety and wellbeing are their main concern.
This was a great tour that gave us the chance to comfortably and confidently explore India. We used public transport, explored palaces, markets, street food and religious ceremonies. Great!
Travelling as light as possible, tracking clothes are best, dont forget fist aid, mosquito spray, small toiletteries, a scarf to cover up at religious sites. Go with the flow and come with an open mind for best enjoyment.
Such a disparate group of people, yet we had so much fun, laughed, danced and ate together! A terrific guide and wonderful companions what’s not to like?
Intrepid’s Rajasthan Experience is a wonderful way to catch a glimpse into Indian culture, its history and its way of life. Come prepared to have all your preconceived notions about India blown out of the water! The architecture of the various palaces and forts is breathtaking, the landscapes are at times rugged and desert-like and at other times mountainous and breathtakingly beautiful! The food is different and delicious and the people are warm and welcoming.
I loved India its such an amazing culture. Being a female traveller I felt completely safe. Our tour leader was great, helpful and approachable. Rathbourne national park was a let down, but all the rest of the activities where fantastic especially the hot air balloon ride and camel riding
India was very nice, people hospitable. Pack light, could pick up some outfits over there. Try not to go in May and June. It was very hot.
This trip was fantastic! Well organised and enjoyable. You truly felt like you were getting a local and personable experience
Intrepid provide you with information and opportunities that other travel companies dont
I overpacked , take lightweight easy wear clothes and good walking shoes /trainers.
Intrepid was recommended to me as a good trip for adventurous solo travellers. The majority of the people on the trip were couples or families, with large wheeled suitcases. If you are a solo traveller thinking of Intrepid, I would recommend another company or choosing an Intrepid trip that specialises in solo travellers.
I had a wonderful time on my tour however I wish I hadve paid more attention to what age ranges of people would be on my tour as I was younger by 40years to my other tour members and this had a major impact on my experience and will be careful when booking again.
This trip was amazing – I absolutely loved it! You really get to experience the true and authentic India, the way it overwhelms all your senses. I really enjoyed being able to rub shoulders with the locals when taking public transport, and particularly enjoyed the overnight trains! The range of places the trip goes to is fantastic, you really get to see some very different places. The optional tours were great, and I loved learning about the history of India. Being able to try the local food and see local crafts was great. I feel like I’ve had an amazing taste of India – I already want to return! I would 100% recommend this trip!
This trip was formidably arranged logistically wise. Accommodation was surprisingly good for a ‘Basic’ type trip. This is a trip I will never forget. It has been educating, fascinating, culturally challenging at times. Some places will stick with me forever … Udaipur, Varanasi have captured my heart. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to discover the real India and have their senses stimulated 24/7!!!! Go for it, you won’t regret it. The places we visit on this trip are amazing – If you are looking for mountains and lakes or landscape diversity this is not the right trip for you though.
This trip was absolutely amazing – I would 100% recommend it. It’s hard to describe India, the way it overwhelms all your senses, the incredible food, the beautiful monuments. The tour takes you to such a range of places, you really can get a taste for India and what it has to offer. I always felt safe, the security that travelling in a group with a tour leader offers is so reassuring. Travelling with lots of local transport was fantastic, a great way to experience local life. If you want to experience the exciting, chaotic and amazing place that is India, this trip is for you!
Intrepid made everything so easy, I never felt unsafe on the trip as the tour leaders on the north and south India tours were excellent and looked after everyone. It was the best way of seeing India
A great way to experience India – “warts and all”
We didn´t like the fact about tipping the leader/in general (nothing to do with Ravindra). We read about it in the trip notes before and they grow year to year (3-5 USD to 5-7 USD). But this is not the problem. It felt like a preasure giving a lot of tip – because it was indicated several times. In my opinion the amount of tips depends on the leader … and I think it is not a good thing of Intrepid, that leaders are dependent on the tips – because of low salaries. We love to give tips – not forced, but by heart.
Awesome trip! Saw a lot of culture in a short time. Parikshit Rawat was an excellent guide! Long trips in mini buses and train. Many mountainous winding roads so take your motion sickness pills and ginger with you! This tour checked off many things I wanted to see in India! Thanks Intrepid!
The trip more than met my expectations. The trip was greatly enhanced by the opportunities to meet the locals in the cooking demonstration and the Chitwan homestay. We got the opportunity to see the major tourist attractions and interact with the locals. The tour leader was very well informed and went out of his way to meet each traveler’s individual needs.
This trip has an excellent itinerary with a wonderful variety of activities. If you choose this trip, get ready to be immersed in the local culture and be busy seeing and doing so much! Many early mornings, but it is worth it when you are getting up to do things like watch a sunrise over the ganges. Our guide was excellent and willing to share so much of his life, country ,and culture with us. Overall a great experience!
trip was brief but gave us a good insight into india.
A great way to experience India – “warts and all”
The trip exceeded my expectations and included a great mix of experiences. It was great to see the small rural villages in addition to the big cities and main sights. I particularly enjoyed the home visits and home cooked meals. Seeing three tigers in Panna National Park was also a highlight! Our group leader Badam was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and did a great job catering to the interests and needs of everyone in our group.
A good trip for a first journey in India. Some very long journeys and some hotels and modes of transport may not be quite a Western concept of ‘Comfort’. The Taj…..the Temple carvings and Veranasay outstanding visits. Worth the trip just for these alone.
Amazing trip. Be prepared for culture shock but also a stimulating and rewarding adventure. Nothing I would change including the overnight trains!
An excellent introduction to India. Avdhesh was a fantastic guide and the trip was enjoyable and we’ll organised.
Fantastic tour to introduce you to India. Had a great guide who shared so much knowledge and really took care of the group. The camel safari was a real highlight. Loved every moment of this trip.
Incredible trip for solo Travellers, being a single woman of 29 i was a little Nervous but my tour guid just made me feel so safe! pack thin light clothing, shirts with sleeves and a few longer ones for when going to temples, no shorts above the knee! shopping was great! i left all my own belongings for a refuge and bought all new gift home! so pack light!!
well done excellent organized skills to provide a good safe holiday
Highly recommend this tour. Very different experience than northern India – much more laid back and relaxing pace of travel and activities. Varied culture, landscapes and even climate. Every location visited was engaging and interesting. I will definitely be back to visit south India again and would not hesitate to utilize another intrepid tour. This was my 6 trip with them and again was not disappointed.
Be sure to get your e-visa in advance! Theres a fair bit of time spent traveling, but that should be expected based on the many diverse sights visited. Its all worth it though.
My trip to India was amazing. Our guide, Mahi, was excellent. He looked after all the group and ensured we were all safe. He also went the extra mile and we did extra activities. I am definitely going to India again.
Would defiantly reccomend this journey to anyone wanting to visit the highlights of India & Nepal, so many different experiences packed into 15 days, yet it feels like you have enough time in each place. There is no way we could have had the opportunities to do what we did with intrepid on our own. I would defiantly reccomend doing it Delhi-Kathmandu (not the other way around) & try and get our amazing guide Alan! We will make the journey so much fun.
Intrepid is a great way to travel. We felt safe, secure & we enjoyed the company of others whilst travelling to our places.
I love Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy – local guides, local transport, and their support of local businesses and charities. Every trip I’ve taken have been excellently organised and I’ve loved every moment. I don’t look at other travel companies for my tours anymore!
The golden triangle tour is a fantastic opportunity to see a small part of a beautiful culture. I can thoroughly recommend asking for Chandrajeet as your guide.
Intrepid Golden Triangle India – fantastic tour- so much history, colour, art, great food – and brilliant tour leader. I’m returning!
This tour provided a variety of experiences in travel, accommodation and sights. Longer travel times were balanced with easier days. We took this tour after doing two tours in the North and found the quieter, slower pace of Southern India a great way to end our trip. I also loved the food of the south. There are many faces to India and am very pleased we took the tine to experience the south of the country .
If travelling to a country that is a little bit out of your comfort zone then Intrepid are a great company to tour with! The groups are small, there is loads of free time, well organised itineraries, and lots of great experiences to be had! Loved my trip with them!
Use the information provided on the website as a guide upon which to build your own research. This way, the very wide focus provided by Intrepid, cam be narrowed to crystalise your own requirements and once embarked on your trip Intrepid is flexible enough to accommodate them or to accommodate them as near as possible to suit your requirements. Travel us not a passive activity but to be truly satisfying must fulfil your needs as much as possible bintrepud, i believe, us as helpful as possible in reaching this goal.
Beware of potential ATM issues and to have an open mind
Travel with an open mind.
This is a great introductory tour of northern India, especially for solo travelers. You get to see a lot of diverse places and the amount of time spent in each city is well planned out. Jaisalmer, Udaipur, and Varanasi were particular highlights. Definitely recommend!

South India is a beautiful part of India to visit…the history, culture, friendly people and overall experience. Basic trip is also a wonderful experience.
Entrepid creates a safe, positive and community oriented experience. I enjoyed each place we visited as it had its own unique beauty and Intrepid made it so we fully experienced the culture by taking us to all the local places. I am leaving this tour feeling truly connected to India.
This trip ventures into the heart of religion and spirituality in India, it has incredibly long drives and trains, but some of the places visited are worth the effort! Pack a swimsuit and some leggings for the Ganges, it was amazing taking a dip in the river!
This type of trip is ideal for anyone new to travelling and provides you with a guide to support the process of exploring new countries, it also provides you with the company of like minded people and allows you to explore without feeling threatened.
I have been on four Intrepid tours and each one has been a richly rewarding with varied experiences and excellent local knowledge from knowledgeable, skilful, caring guides
If you are hesitant about going to India, don’t be. We love travelling but haven’t been on a tour before for many reasons. Intrepid are not tour “”tours”. You have your own time and space yet they get you places you wouldn’t get to yourself without a lot of hassle and work. The tour was just non-stop (plenty of time to rest if you wanted it) adventure, we loved it, we loved the variety of everything from accommodation to transport to cities that they offered on the trip. I just want to do it again right now!
First intrepid trip . Guide was amazing . After the culture shock of India it was a good trip
From the start to end of the tour everything just flowed perfectly. My experience with Intrepid has been phenomenal!
This an economic, well packaged travel itinerary for those seeking adventure in a huge exotic land such as, India.
Intrepid offers trips designed to challenge tourists in a positive way.
Tips: Budget for optional extras and tipping kitty. (More than you think) Download a ride sharing app prior to arriving Bring a guide book for in-depth details
Relax and enjoy. India isn’t for the faint hearted but there is something spectacular around every corner !
Intrepid did a great job at creating a varied and interesting trip with a well experienced and friendly guide to make sure you get the most out of all it had to offer
Intrepid ensure you get the full experience There were a few things I wouldnt have undertaken if travelling alone. A camel trip & sleeping under the stars, something Ill always remember
Intrepid trips are a great way to see the world. They are spot on to ensure you see the sites, learn about the local culture and history and stay safe.
The trip was excellent value for money, I put it between backpacker and say 3.5 stars. The accomadation was very good and all the rooms and bedding were clean.
Great taste of southern India, busy travel schedule which allows you to see many things but at times a little tiring. Make the most of any free time to see/do specific things you want to. All included food was sensational, guide great and experiences unforgettable.
The trip was exceptionally well organised and with the small group of travelers (max 12) always felt friendly and great fun. I look forward to another trip with this organisation again.
Delhi to Goa was an amazing experience! 5++ one of the best holidays of my life!
Intrepid is a great company to travel with.
If you dont want to travel North India alone (which I advise you not to) then Intrepid is a good way to do it. Me and my friend did the tour together and were well looked after, saw incredible things whilst being kept safe in such a crazy country!
Really good itinerary, great value, and optional activities were all excellent as well as being well-priced.
I couldnt imagine the Indian trip without coming with intrepid. The itinerary covers lots of stuff yet we had lots of free time to do what suits us. Avdhesh, our guide was gold, hes so calm, knowledgeable, and so helpful, so that I didnt have to worry about logistics, things to do or eat. I also love intrepid promotes environmental friendly travels. The authentic indian experience we had was beyond my expectation. Thx Intrepid and Avdhesh to made my first Indian trip filled with great memories!! Ill def do intrepid again
My three weeks in India have been intense, emotional, exhausting, thought-provoking and life changing. I have seen so many aspects of life, many extreme, but have come home feeling enriched and a more complete person. Tip: travel with an open mind and open heart for a life-changing experience!!!
Great trip overall! Spent a mojority of the trip travelling to religious sites etc, so probably a trip better suited to older travellers.
I find Intrepid tours excellent.Having smaller groups make the trip more personal.Other tours we have been on have taken us to shopping outlets whether we like it or not and heavily pressured to buy items ,Intrepid does not do this which to me is refreshing.
I cant rate Intrepid enough. If I had to give any tips it would be be patient & always remember that you are a guest in the country your visiting, not everything happens like it does at home. Go into it with an open mind & always give your itinerary to loved ones as wifi isnt always reliable.
Love the small tour groups and the local guides. The add on urban adventures are also excellent – you get taken to places you might not necessarily had visited otherwise.
Take our 50% of your packed clothes but double the size of your camera storage. Don’t forget to take a travel charger and be open to every experience !
Make sure to leave your preconceptions and requirements behind – Let the trip take you where it needs to and you’ll have a great time!
India is a amazing country to visit and Rajasthan’s architecture with the forts, temple’s and villages is spectacular. Experiencing the day and sleeper trains, tuktuks, FOOD and of course the friendly people. Gotta be on your bucket list.
This overview of South India provided a rich travel experience and a wonderful introduction to the South. If I were to return to India, it would definitely be to the south. The guide we had was excellent and probably responsible for making the travel experience as enriching as it was.
Agreat way to see and experience the country and culture wuthout compromising comfort.
Fantastic from start to finish
Amazing trip – I am so pleased I booked this trip. Would definitely recommend it. Great value and amazing memories to treasure.
Awesome experience- unforgettable trip!
This trip was packed with activities and was a lot of fun as well. We learnt a lot about Nepal, a place we really didn’t know much about, and the journey from Nepal to Delhi provided so many unforgettable experiences – it was just wonderful.
Overall a very good trip, well organised.
Well organized trip from Delhi to Kathmandu. I can’t imagine the headaches we avoided by letting Intrepid do all of the organizing! Besides the ease of travel with Intrepid I really enjoyed meeting and spending time with the other group members and having an Indian guide who was great at giving thoughtful answers to all of our questions.
The Golden Triangle is an excellent trip to experience the highlights of Northern India. The Amber Fort, Taj Mahal and Agra Fort were amazing architectural and historical sites to witness, and the cultural experience of a Bollywood Movie and a trip to the IPA cricket will be with me for a long time. Take any optional extras you can, those unplanned experiences are magical.
Well planned and organised trip over 1 week. Enjoyed company of other group members and look forward to booking with Intrepid again.
Perfect mix of history, culture, and nature in both village and city settings. Truly unforgettable experience.
Great to travel with, as close to grassroots as makes it comfortable but still unique experience.
My mum and I had such an amazing experience on this trip. Our first time in India, we fell in love with the culture and its food. We learned to cook the most amazing recipes from very knowledgeable and friendly local cooks. Our trip leader Pradeep with his enthusiasm created the best and most memorable atmosphere in our group, Thoroughly recommended.
This trip struck the perfect balance between have an opportunity to see and experience India and providing time to relax and enjoy the delightful accommodation and hospitality.
An amazingly colourful trip, brightening up a dull winter. We were shown many of the stunning monuments in northern India, but we also had time to relax or explore on our own.
Go with an open mind travel lightly and you willhave a fantastic trip
If you want to get the most out of your vacation, choose Intrepid! Perfect organisation, philosophy, tour leaders, value for money; responsible travelling, local support, small groups… what else do you want?! Definitely worth every penny!!!
This was an amazing trip and good value for money. Punt aims and mystics is a good title for this trip as it allows the traveller to fully explore the diverse spiritual side of India
enjoyable trip but would have liked longer in Pondicherry and miss out Aurovil Your questionnaire needs adjustment see camping/equipment
Fabulous trip, varied and interesting itinerary, you feel more like a traveler than a tourist. Wonderful, interesting group of fellow travelers and our leader Bruno was superb, a lovely genuine person.
Food adventure India exceeded my expectations, great mix of major sites like Taj Mahal & with the food theme throughout the trip & eating in places with the locals in little laneways, Sikh temple, market shopping & good mix of cooking experiences I really enjoyed the whole 15days.
A fantastic adventure full of local experiences with none of the stress
The group dynamics worked wonderfully well for both kids and adults. We had no idea that we would be socialising quite so much with our fellow travellers – after a few days it felt like we were travelling with friends. Almost all of the hotels had amazing grounds and facilities that weren’t advertised very clearly; we were surprised and delighted at every turn.
A really nice trip with interesting places to see. Very hot in March and April!. A high standard of accommodation, beautifully organised by our excellent guide Santo James. Also worth considering is the Original trip from Kochi to Kochi – we met people on this and they said it was excellent too.
Intrepid is the perfect way of travelling, if you’re looking for a fun and interesting way to explore a country in group and enjoy the local way of living!
This is an excellent way to delve into the chaos and wonder that is India! Wonderful group and team leader and a trip which will be seared in my memory with unforgettable experiences. Take a good camera and dress modestly!
Loved our trip with intrepid seeing Rajasthan also enjoyed the small group size.Main tip only take minimal clothing buy extra on arrival helps their economy.Go with an open mind be adventurous and you will be amazed.
Go with an open mind and you will have an experience of a life time, which will not only assault all your senses from day one, will leave you wanting to do and lean more. It’s not just a holiday it’s a life changer.
Was a wonderful experience. We were well looked after, always felt safe and also managed to get in a see the real India and Nepal which was exactly what we wanted.
Had great trip. Some long days but so worthwhile as covered a lot of ground and saw so much.
This is our 4th family adventure with Intrepid and it was as amazing as all the others.
Have done Pe…. Safari in Kenya and Tanzania, plus guerrillas in Africa also P. To Varanasi after Rajasthan.
This is a basic trip but it is very good value for money and was pitched exactly with what we wanted to do, that is interact with local people was well as seeing the sights
Excellent value for money, and allowed you to be immersed in local culture.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience in the capable hands of Intrepid. I would highly recommend this company, based on our trip recently to Rajasthan.
Just Go! Even if you have been to Rajasthan before this tour takes you off the usual well travelled tourist trail to some amazing destinations and adventures that you’ll never forget.
Amazing range of experiences from The Golden Temple in Amrister, the border flag lowering to yoga and rafting in Rishekesh.A food lovers delight as well.
The Delhi to Kathmandu was a great trip we thoroughly enjoyed. It had so many highlights including Taj Mahal, Varanasi, sailing down the Ganges and Nepal’s amazing world heritage sites.
A fantastic way to see and experience India through food. We went to places and tasted dishes you can’t find without the help of a local leader. Ideal for vegetarians!
Great trip and lovely food!
Excellent trip taken by a family of four with two young teenagers. Whilst the itinerary was ambitious and some days were very long, we felt we experienced and learned so much. Intrepid and our leader were top notch which gave us great peace of mind. Highly recommended but it helps to know what to expect so that you go with the right attitude.
This is a great introduction to India. The children instantly bonded and really enjoyed each other’s company. The itinery is full so be prepared for some early starts and a lot of travelling however it was all really worth it.
This was the first trip outside of the EU that I had taken, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was possibly the best 2 weeks of my life. The places we visited, the group that we had and the leader guiding us really made the 2 weeks great! I would recommend this tour to everyone and only wish I had done this sooner!
This was our first Intrepid tour and first real trip to India. All the way from the initial booking to the end of the tour we were looked after and kept up to date at every stage of the process. Our expectations were well and truly exceeded at every stage. Our tour leader Shakti Singh Rathore was everything one could ask for in a tour guide. From start to finish it felt as if were were being cared for by a loving parent. Nothing was left to chance. Shakti organised everything down to the very last detail, and everything went according to plan, even when the trains ran late. We would most certainly travel again with Intrepid and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for an interesting trip.
Intrepid and our tour leader really made our Indian adventure fantastic. Excellent value for money!
This trip was perfect. The trip leader, Mahaveer, became a great friend of us within days. Everything was very easy, the transports were good and the accomodation as well. Just remember to take loads of mosquito spray and a good medicines kit.
Great organisation, approachable leaders, great local knowledge
This trip gave us the heart and soul of India and Nepal
well organised with a good variety of things to see. make sure you research the time of year that you go….the scenery would be a lot different after the monsoons
That is great for solo travel. The company emails and communication sucks before your Destination but at the end it’s the experience the leader provides you
Go with Intrepid Travel you will have the time of your life.
Fantastic trip of a lifetime to India! Intrepid took the hassle out of the trip and made us feel safe in our group of 4 woman. I recommend this trip to all!
I absolutely loved this trip. My advice to future travellers would be to read the trip notes carefully. It is a basix trip. Manage your expectations about India. The only people in my group who didn’t enjoy the trip had unrealistic expectations of luxury and first world facilities. Take some patience and a sense of humour with you and you will have the time of your life.
The North India Revealed trip was completely immersive. Overnight trains, tuk tuks and local buses are all part of the experience and we loved every bit of it. Trip highlights included the camel safari, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Varanasi and of course the Taj Mahal. Armed with hand sanitizer, a bar of sard/sunlight soap, patience, and humour, India will be everything you want it to be and more.
Classic Rajistan is the land of the Kings and on our stay we lived like royalty spending most nights in palaces and castles. While those were the highlight, all the hotels were nice but the most amazing part was the experience. India is such a culturally rich and wonderful place to explore, I am forever changed by the beauty of the landscape and the people. Tips: bug spray, modest attire (covered knees and shoulders) and good walking shoes.
Great trip. It was my firt time in India. Dharmsala and Shimla, was nice and cool to compare to other cities. Interesting choice of accommodation. Every town and place were different. If youre nature lover, like me – there is plenty to see.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Delhi to Kathmandu trip with Intrepid. Tour and leader were great.
My friend and i had the time of our lives on this tour. I cant stop talking about it or showing photos just want to do it again
India is incredible. This is a “full on” trip which stimulates all of your senses but be prepared for the change in culture and embrace the difference. Nepal is beautiful and the time spent in Chitwan provides some time for relaxation, so make the most of it. It was great to finish in Kathmandu and had I had more time it would have been nice to tag on a few days at the end of the trip to see more of Nepal. The knowledge and experience of our guide Bhagi meant that I was able to do things such as the boat ride on the Ganges which would have been impossible as a lone traveller. Baghi and the group were excellent travel companions, I felt as though I laughed throughout the entire trip.
This was a fantastic trip, and would recommend this trip to anyone! It gives you a taste of both India and Nepal.
Don’t over pack. Drink plenty of water/keep hydrated. I have done a lot of travelling in my time but I would have to say, India has been one of my most favourite destinations. I enjoyed every single minute of my time there. And, it is a photographers dream! Well done Intrepid…and to our perfect guide, Alan. Thank YOU.
My review would be 5 stars. A fantastic introduction to the country. We loved seeing Kerala on bike and would thoroughly recommend this holiday.
Taste of India gives you a very good insight into the country and its people. Aside from the food, the varied places we visited was really interesting. Our guide was caring, and informative. He answered all our many varied questions.
Please feel free to plagiarise my comments on the feedback
Intrepid trips are well priced for single travellers. I have made many friends from all around the world that I have met on these trips. I would recommend them to anyone who is willing to stay in cheaper accommodation and have the safety of a local tour guide
With Intrepid, I feel very safe. The cost of the trip is very reasonable. It is also very easy to book the trip. I really enjoy my north India trip and I will definitely travel with Intrepid again. By the way, I really appreciate that we have roommate rotation when we change the hotel.
If you love experiencing amazing, heritage accommodation & are willing to immerse yourself in the rich culture of India – this is the trip for you! Would recommend a wheeled duffel bag rather than a hiking backpack as it is easier to maneuver when getting on & off trains – travel light. Be patient as everything is done in “Indian time”.
Absolutely fantastic trip, so well organised and all of the activities both included and optional were great! Highly recommend this trip!
Great trip , first time in a group , looking forward to the next time
Booked last minute as a single traveller. Supplement seemed high as many hotels seemed quiet. That said, a good mix of people, very inclusive and lots to see
great fun to meet with a varied group of like minded people of all ages
India is amazing .. I had a few helpful tips from other people, I took probiotics a week prior to leaving and continue while there, along with Travelan before each meal, along with the local yogurt each day, this was in the form of a Lassi. I also took hydralyte at least twice a day as our temperatures got up to 40+.
The India Real Food Adventure is an excellent introduction to India. It manages to include headline must-see experiences like the Taj Mahal along with a window into ordinary life like shopping for vegetables in a market before heading to an Indian home to cook your supper and share it with the family. This trip is well planned, balancing a long day of travelling with a decent stay in an area and contrasting the hustle and bustle of busy cities with the peace of the countryside, where watching rural life is a little like going back in time. Travelling with a guide gives you a deeper understanding of India as they not only lead you to places you would not find on your own and explain what you are seeing around you but they share their own life experience of growing up and living in India today. A guide also takes all the stress out of travelling as they organise and negotiate all the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the trip leaving you free to absorb all the fascinating history and rich culture of this amazing country.
In one word Amazing! Just remember, you don’t visit India, you experience India.
great holiday with children, good way to experience India for the first time
We had a wonderful time on our trip to Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan. Our 2 children in particular had a great experience. Our tour leader was able to provide historical background to the places we visited. He also organized local guides, who explained the history behind the various palaces and forts we saw. If you going to visit India with young children, this is the way to do it.
We typically opt for tours in places that we feel may be difficult for us to navigate ourselves. We are exceptionally pleased with the choice to do so for our trip to India. We were able to see a lot in a short period of time, in a safe, comfortable and protected environment. Although we felt protected from having to navigate a lot of transport and other issues, it did detract from our feeling of enjoying some of the true local culture.
This was a comprehensive tour of South India. We really enjoyed the diversity of the places visited and the difference between Tamil Nadu and Kerala. We would have liked more time in the backwaters to explore in a small boat.
Make sure you read the trip notes front to back. You don’t want any surprises along the way
Intrepid take the hassle out of your trip to fully let you enjoy the experience and culture of your trip. The leaders are extremely knowledgable and inform you on facts you would not have known if travelling independently. I have no doubt I will be booking with intrepid again in the future
Get your own airport transfers
Great well organised tour that took the stress out of travelling around amazing India.
Intrepid is amazing. Especially in India. We were able to leave all the hassle and worrying and planning to our guide and just enjoy the experiences in the incredible India.
My husband and I had always wanted to travel to India and finally did in our mid fifties. What took us so long? Finding the right way to travel India, a way that suited our lifestyle. A cycle trip offered us an active holiday and a chance to see India the slow way. Cycling totally immersed us in the countrys beautiful scenery, culture and people. Dont be afraid of the traffic, somehow it all works.
A very good introduction to south India, if pretty tiring in places (depending how well you sleep on overnight trains!). Worth researching your own trips on free days, such as Thattekad reserve near Kochi. Don’t expect to swim in the sea on windy monsoon days!
Fantastic scenery and amazing locations ensure that this trip is unforgettable
This trip was very well run, it was varied and exciting, fun and an introduction to what I felt was a ‘real’ India. The guides were really superb and were there for us 24/7 if we needed them. I loved seeing some of classic India and then going on the amazing (to me) overnight train to a boat trip on the Ganges run by extraordinarily lovely local guys (we played cricket with them on the banks of the Ganges when camping). I loved the contrast of of that with visiting the Chitwan National park seeing rhinos and crocs, canoeing in a log canoe, eating and chatting with locals. Staying in the Maharajah’s palace was a delight as was having a little chat with him while I was drawing there… TIP: take your watercolours!
Well organised and great value for money. Friendly and patient guide on hand at ask times which was very reassuring for a sole traveller.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and although we managed to fit so much in, we felt the tour did not feel too rushed. We arrived into Delhi a couple of days before the trip started which we would highly recommend to people considering this tour. Not only did it allow us a bit more time in this vibrant city, but also helped us to acclimatise before the start of the tour!
As a traveller in my 60s I felt very much at home with this tour group of all ages and nationalities. Konika our guide was outstanding and a key part of the success of the trip. Would recommend Intrepid.
I decided to come to Nepal / India on a whim. I leave having fallen in love with India. I can’t wait to return.
Im so glad that I chose this trip when I finally had the chance to visit India! It exceeded my expectations at every turn and challenged me in ways that I expected (rough camping) and didnt expect (making my way through Delhis heat and chaos). This tour offers a good variety of beautiful and interesting locations. Intrepid are a well-organized company with knowledgeable and professional front-line staff.
Excellent trip, be aware of standards of accommodation and manage your own expectations, but generally the scope and stops on the trip were excellent (more time in Agra would be nice) and the tour guide (Badam) was outstanding.
This is a good trip if you want to get a taste of how is India in just 7 days
If travelling in India…ask for Bruno Jason ….a brilliant guide ! Articulate….informative……ALWAYS accessible…..knowledgeable…ALWAYS willing to explain everything—– dispensed with understanding & humour. He candidly spoke of his life, and aspirations. Our group felt Bruno became a friend travelling with us —– as well as guiding. Bruno .. good luck…OMG…and happy travels ??
Be prepared to be amazed and overwhelmed by the beauty and the diversity within India. History – culturally and in architecture. Food is great and will meet all requirements. Finally the 2nd most populated country in the World you gotta experience it.
In my opinion one of the main attributes of travelling with Intrepid is, in as much as it is possible when travelling through a country as a foreign tourist, is the interaction with locals and the local environment that Intrepids leaders facilitate.
Excellent trip and insight into the many different foods of India.
An Intrepid tour was such a great way to see India. The Delhi to Goa trip allowed us to see the main attractions, as well as cities and towns that weren’t so touristy. The tour was well organised and I always felt safe. Our tour leader Sana Jinah was amazing, so knowledgeable, helpful and fun. I would highly recommend an Intrepid tour for India.
The India getaway was great value for money. We had a great mix of people on our tour and couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgable and compassionate tour leader. I will definitely be travelling with intrepid again.
Amazing tour! Fantastic way to experience the essence and spirituality of varanasi and village culture in Tordi. Highly recommend this trip if you would like to experience the chaos as well as the simplicity, serenity and beauty of Indian culture.
For anyone who want to experience India for the first time, this is a great introduction!! Dehli, Varanasi, Agra, Tordi, and Jaipur alre all different and all have something special and amazing to see. The overnight trains can be a bit daunting but are part of the experience! Go!! Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and most of …the people!!
If you want to cover all the northern highlights in a short space of time this is the trip for you! The trip was amazing start to finish and the accommodation was fantastic despite it being a Basix trip. I had such a wonderful time and left India with so many great memories.
Tour was excellent, action packed. We thouroughly enjoyed the experience and would travel with intrepid again. Allow for extra optional activities as they see worthwhile. Brilliant trip overall. Will definitely go with intrepid again.
More info on the cost for when we are here
Just book it! Intrepid tours are the best way to get the most out of a country. It’s easy, safe, stress free and affordable. The tours are so much fun, great people involved and highlights the best of a country! You really enjoy the journey as well as the destinations. Travelling in some country can be so exhausting with the dissision making, battering, trying not to get ripped off. But with intrepid that is all taken care off! I can’t wait to do to next one!
It was hassle free travelling, a joy and stress free after many years of backpacking.
Intrepid offers a relaxed, authentic style of travelling without the bother of buying tickets and booking accomodation. The destinations are often unique and unexpected. It is definitely not a sight seeing tour and offers enough free time for some exploring and adventure. The trip notes and traveller advice are invaluable and concise and the trip leaders are extremely knowledgeable and professional offering support in all areas of the trip.
If travelling in India…ask for Tarang Chandola ….a brilliant guide ! Articulate….informative……ALWAYS accessible…..knowledgeable…ALWAYS willing to explain everything—– with understanding & humour. He candidly spoke of his life, family and aspirations. Our group felt Terang became a friend travelling with us —– as well as guiding.
Excellent trip shared with new friends from around the world! The activities are fun, unique, and you see/ experience a lot. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to truly experience India and Nepal.
Fantastic trip, covering a wide variety of places and experiences! It included the ‘must-sees’ and a whole lot more – and often the less-well known places exceeded the ‘must-sees’! Good overview of local life too, and opportunities to learn about and support local crafts and businesses. Our tour leader Jitu was excellent and the group was a wonderful blend. Overall, an outstanding experience!
Great trip, good for solo travel, felt safe throughout, well organised, friendly & experienced group leader (Jitu), brilliant experiences, great group of people. Cant wait to book my next Intrepid trip!!
An excellent well planned itinerary with a fantastic leader. Tips, read the trip notes but dont be afraid to try this holiday, nobody got sick and a Wow every day!
India exceeded my expectations! This is a great itinerary which covers many experiences. It was good arriving in Nepal last as it is a lot quieter and more relaxing at the end of a busy trip. I loved the river boat ride and the overnight camp spot was awesome, you would never imagine where you were, not a sole around, beautiful sunset and sunrise and lovely food. This trip is very busy with many early morning starts but well worth it at the end of the day. The overnight train is nothing to worry about. You do visit a couple of cremation sites which i found confronting. This is a combination trip so be ready to change groups on day 5. They need to sort out the tip kitty for people doing the combination trip so they aren’t paying for 2 trips at the same time, but that’s a minor thing. Check the time of year you travel, it can be very hot, dry and dusty especially with no cover on the boat or jeep in Chitwan. The best time to get to Nepal is October when it is all green, not dusty like when we went. Anuj was an awesome leader. We had a great trip and made a few great new friends. I recommend this trip!
I believe Intrepid provides a real experience of the places visited in Rajasthan, rather than just the “surface” tourist spots. The tour leader had extensive knowledge, and gave valuable insight into the culture, food, people and places visited. Overall, the trip was well planned and there were always options for things to see and do.
Incredible India is an understatement. As seasoned traveller but a first time Intrepid traveller this was a unique combination of adventure, cultural diversity and community involvement. Without the support of Intrepid we could not have accessed many of these experiences. Thank you
Far exceeded all expectations Was areal treasure at all levels Highly recommend
Best trip ever to be able to see North India everything great..You experience trains, planes, coaches, rickshaws and boats…The Ganges is great
A great way to see North India and experience it all and it helps when you have a great travelling group who become your friends…..Dont need to take a lot of clothes as all the hotels have their own laundry services…just enjoy the whole experience
Do the Mumbai slum tour – these people are so inspirational with their community spirit and as a lot of families actually dont wish to leave the way they have built different workable industries inside is a credit to the
India for us a couple was somewhere we felt we needed help with traveling, this intrepid package was perfect for stay within India’s roots while getting the help needed to see such a diverse and beautiful country.
A great way to be shown the highlights of India and understand the history and culture. Not a place I could have done independently, or enjoyed as much on my own. Hotels were simple and clean and the pace of the trip allowed for some independent exploring and time for rest.
I never thought I would be someone who would take part in a group trip – I’ve always travelled under my own steam. But my South India Intrepid tour changed all of that! It was a great way to see the country in a limited time without worrying about finding my own way/getting lost along the way. There was enough free time not to feel overwhelmed and the group I travelled with have become firm friends.
An excellent introduction to the dazzling culturally rich environs of Northern India. A meticulously selected range of sites to visit and a sensory delight at each and every turn; time seemed to stand still as we moved from one stunning location to the next and took in the magical atmosphere of each very special and varied location. The best led tour I have ever experienced – I would say this trip had a very positive impact on my outlook on life.
Patience is truly a virtue on trip. Sit back, relax and take the time to see an amazingly rugged beauty. Full of history and culture that can be seen no where else.
What an amazing trip. Diverse itinerary. Tarang, our guide was fantastic. So many highlights … too many to mention!!! The (optional extra) flight to Mt Everest was a must do.
The golden triangle tour is a fantastic opportunity to see a small part of India. Its a stunning place that really showcases what a beautiful and complex country it really is.
Having a guide who knows the country like the back of their hand was a huge relief in a country as fascinating and bustling with excitement. For first-time travellers to India, I would definitely recommend Intrepid.
This tour, whilst an initial shock to the senses, was amazing. Each area we visited was unique, filled with interesting histories and differing cultures. Plus, the food is amazing everywhere! Just don’t forget to bring a couple rolls of toilet paper – you will thank me later.
Please use my german comments I wrote in the first part.
Whirlwind of a trip, lots to see and take in. Definitely an experience like no other !
Rajasthan Adventure value for money.
Travelling through Southern India was a pleasant experience despite the heat and humidity. There was actually a working escalator at Madurai Railway Station!! Flying into Kochi was very civilised. We were offered comfortable lounge chairs to sit in while courteous immigration staff processed our E Visas. Customer service at its best. Hill Stations, wildlife Parks and Boating in the Kerala Backwaters make this a memorable 2 weeks.
I think the urban adventure in Kochi (tour of the city) was overpriced for what it was, I would not reccomebd it to anyone for what it was. The price needs to be lowered or further activities should be added. Southern India is BEAUTIFUL. The people, the food and the land is just stunning. Highlight: the mountains and train rides!
Southern India is vibrant and colourful and challenges all your senses. The women dazzle in their beautiful jewel coloured saris, the eyes widen and the heart races as the tuk-tuk squeezes through an impossibly small gap in the traffic and the nose prickles with the smell of spices and delicious curries. The scenery is constantly changing and never dull.
The North India trip was fantastic! Although fast paced, we are appreciative of how much we were able to see in 12 days. The trip was very well organised, the accomodation and food were excellent, and our team leader accommodated all our needs and was extremely knowledgeable. We highly recommend this trip!
Because of the professional management of the trip and the excellent training of employees I can recommend Intrepid to anyone who considers a guided tour in a particular country.
Excellent trip, highly recommend as an intro to India!
This was my first organised tour, having travelled a fair bit on my own. I really enjoyed the local knowledge and organisation of the trip and look forward to travelling with Intrepid again.
South India is a whirlwind of sights, colours, culture, tastes and experiences. Intrepid gives you a fantastic opportunity to not be a tourist but to travel and live and experience the culture and community around you. The guides are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Thankyou Bruno Justin for an awesome trip
My first time in India, first time with Intrepid..nothing to regret!
The Classic Rajasthan Experience is a wonderful insight into the culture and way of life of this wonderfully diverse area of India. It is a tour that takes in the highlights of this beautiful area, giving you a real and flavour of Rajasthan. It is a beautiful trip that will be guaranteed to take your breath away on so many occasions. I would not think twice about doing it all again – thank you Intrepid Travel and Mohsin Ali for an amazing experience.
We enjoyed our Classic Rajasthan trip, but DO NOT GO TO INDIA IN SUMMER. We travelled in April and it was already too hot. Also, definitely add some days in Delhi to your trip, since the one day Delhi included in the trip is way too short.
Intrepid Travels really looks after pa Their customers and ensure there are enough variety to give customers leave the country they’ve visited a good sense of the culture and feeling after the trip!p
Wonderful trip where I was able to learn and see the culture of India and nepal. Highly recommend taking the tour with friends.
Mountains and Mystics is an interesting trip providing a range of landscapes and culture that provide a glimpse of the diversity of India. From the bustling crowds of Delhi, through to the relative calmness of Dharamsala, every day brings a new experience.
Fantastic, magical tour of the golden triangle. In addition to the obvious must sees, includes other really wonderful destinations, activities and unique accommodations off the beat and track that we never would have found or known to do had we not been on this awesome locally guided tour!
If you want a grassroots experience go with Intrepid. You meet the locals on public transport and tours. If you want to be treated as an individual, go with Intrepid. You are listened to and respected. If you want to NOT be with a large number of tourists, go with Intrepid. If you want to stay in unique accommodation, go with Intrepid. If you want a local guide, go with Intrepid. If you want to get close and personal with the locals , go with Intrepid. If you want an authentic experience, go with Intrepid.
Excellent introduction to India, I would definitely travel with Intrepid again and in fact would love Shakti to be our tour guide again. He was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and a great representative of both India and Intrepid.
Certainly an adventure! Proper India. Showcases the hustle, bustle and horn-beeping of this crazy part of the world.
A great introduction to India and Nepal with an ethically conscious company. India can be challenging to travel so would highly recommend this trip.
The trip through the Himalayas was spectacular with amazing views of the landscape ! The villages we stayed at were gorgeous and enjoyed the diverse culture ! The guide Pancham was the best guide you could ever have ! He made the trip even more special with his knowledge , care , concern , guidance and wonderful personality .
Intrepid offered me an attractive balance between traveling alone as a woman and being herded along on a sanitized bus of 45! The small group size and emphasis on seeing the real India meant that I got an authentic experience while being protected from the downfalls of traveling alone.
A great Australian company and keep an eye out for good deals
I would recommend that people try to get to their starting destination as few days before hand just to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings.
