Tour was one highlight after another. Had to pinch oneself to believe it was all real. Glad we had some extra days just to enjoy the beaches and other sights of Rio.
Well worth it, great value, fantastic selection of inclusions with optional extras!
Very well organised with excellent Intrepid and local guides. Optional extra cover more aspects of the areas
Great trip. The Farm in Uruguay was my highlight! 6 hours per day on horseback!
So much packed into a single tour providing a highlight at every location we visited. The Inca Trail was magical on so many levels and our guides and porters looked after us so well. Don’t believe any of the security horror stories of some of the South American cities – I always felt perfectly safe.
A very interesting tour that gave us an insight into Argentina and Brazil, the countries, people and culture. The Iguazu Falls were absolutely amazing and definitely a tour highlight for us.
Great tour, diverse mix of cultures and ages. Great if you want to experience the real culture.
Everything was excellent from the booking through to the actual trip
Make sure you do detailed research of your own before embarking on these trips Peru is not an easy country to explore due to the altitude of many of the more famous sites and you need to factor in how tired this will make you no matter how fit you are. Altitude sickness is not all about vomiting most people seem to be affected as was I at night sleeping in high altitude becomes a problem until you can acclimatise so be warned !
Great fun travel experience with Intripid, make me feel safe, organized. Definitely will travel with intripid again in short future !
I highly recommend Intrepid as they are small group tours and get off the beaten track where bigger tour operators can’t or don’t go to.
Intrepid was great and was a good kick start for my travels alone moving forward. Will defo use them again.
Peru is a fascinating and highly diverse country offering a huge range of great travel experiences. Manny is the king of tour leaders!
Make sure you read the trip notes. Really helpful for visas as well.
excellent short trip to see South America, 2 big cities (BA and RIO) and 2 marvelous natural wonder (wet land and Iguazu falls)
Iguazu Falls amazing.
We enjoyed the trip expecially the deluxe bus trip over the Andes, the wine trip and the ranch however we found that it was quite laid back and not as exciting as our previous Intrepid Trip.
Intrepid was a brilliant tour. This tour included a ranch stay, which was amazing. It felt like home with plenty of wine flowing.
A really great introduction to Patagonia. A really well-organised trip that packs a lot into the time available, with hiking suitable for all fitness levels. A fun and knowledgeable tour leader (ask for Rod!) and great optional activities like glacier hiking and visiting the penguins in Ushuaia. A fantastic trip.
Informative city tour of Santiago with Claudia and we were blessed with the opportunity to go through the Parliament buildings as there was an unexpected open day. The estancia stay is a nice way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and relax, learning to make empanadas, horse riding and playing tennis. Mendoza winery tours with Pedro (a former wine maker) included delicious wine and food in picturesque settings. A city tour of Buenos Aires and a fun tango evening concluded this enjoyable tour
Uruguay ranch stay provides an excellent opportunity to be outdoors and participate in the daily farm activities.
only tips i can give people , is not to turn up at airports late . always try to be about two hours before flight .
I thoroughly enjoyed my intrepid adventure from Bueno Aires to Rio. The tour itself was great I saw a lot of the major landmarks of the cities and the iguazu falls is unbelievable. Simply stunning. I would highly recommend this tour for people who have a limited amount of time and a lot of space to cover. I think this tour is suited to the more mature traveller as I am in my mid 20’s however my tour group were quiet a bit older than me (between 37-74) and this seemed to be common for this tour nevertheless I had a brilliant time.
Our Patagonian Wilderness was a wonderful fulfilling experience. Whilst the trekking was challenging for a mature couple in their 60s, it was achievable and we are so pleased we followed our instincts to give it a go. The whole trip is true to the brochure details. Amazing locations and even the 14 hour bus trip was great. Our guide Guillermo and our group were fantastic. It was a great pleasure to spend 15 days with these fun people.
The trip was beyond our expectations. The tour group was small, we were well taken care of by our fearless leader, Dennis. The tour guides were all excellent. You could feel that they loved their countries of Argentina and Brazil. The balance of exposure of the cultures from the big cities, to the small towns, and the eco-friendly communities was well thought out. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Intrepid are very good with information and they have highly informative tour leaders
Intrepid tours offer the opportunity to travel with a small group in a relaxed way. The choice of experiences and activities are very much in tune with the real culture and customs of the places visited. Intrepid has an empathetic ethos of giving back as well as receiving. The tour guides are well chosen for their local knowledge and genuine interest in their job and the people they guide.
An amazing adventure with many highlights (particularly with limited time to travel). I loved every minute – Buenos Aires, Ibera Wetlands, Iguacu Falls and Rio (loved Rio!). The trip was well organised and Alberto (tour leader) looked after everyone.
Intrepid travel is a great way to explore countries without the big tourist hype. Love the small groups different ages and being able to get to know one another. Great way to travel if you are into walking and exploring
This is a great trip, more of an adventure really although with good accommodation and tour leaders. Machu Picchu and Iguazu in one trip is amazing enough but the Lake Titicaca homestay and visits to local communities in Peru and Brazil were also real highlights. Buenos Aries and Rio were also fantastic cities. Good value for money
If you dont like to become wet, dont go to boat trip in iguazu
Most amazing landscape I have ever experienced, 4 seasons in a day most days. The fitness requirement is real, but the view was always worth the effort and slower recovery days were well spaced.
Be prepared for all kinds of weather (rain, cool to hot) traveling from Buenos Aires to Iguassu Falls, and Rio. Consider wearing lots of layered clothing. We traveled with 2 small travel bags that fit on the plane and carried one backpack. It’s the way to go. It was an excellent trip–beyond our expectations.
This was my second Intrepid tour and I had a phenomenal two weeks. I made new friends I will see again, I didnt have to worry about logistics and I managed to see a huge amount of places in a short period of time without having to lift a finger. To top it all off, the guides are professional, helpful and knowledgeable, which makes visiting new places all the more interesting. I would highly recommend travelling with Intrepid!
Super easy way to see highlights and tick off bucket list items! Safe, convenient and fun to meet like minded travelers!
Fantastic tour and great group. The tour offered a complete cross section of touring areas in each stop, seeing communities on and off the regular tourist trails. Can’t recommend your highly enough if your looking for a shorter tour that is jam packed!
Mostly good can be great. Still waiting in suspense to know if any compensation is coming for the cancellation of Salta or the wording of the letter from Intrepid to the insurer.
Main tip would be book and extra night or 2 in the larger cites where the tours start and leave from. I highly recommend Intrepid to everyone.
Intrepid offers some amazing active treks & culture trips to faraway places. I used to organise these myself, but much more convenient and well-planned by you! In addition, I get to meet fellow trekkers/travellers & local people. Patagonia Wilderness was the perfect mix of activity and nature for me. The hikes – El Chalten, Torres del Paine & Ushuaia – were all we could pack in the time, with some relaxing thrown in! Only niggle is your pricing is significantly higher than G Adventures…
People need to be made aware of the affects of altitude sickness as this was very debilitating for members of our group, particularly as we were in altitude for many weeks. Awareness needs to be created
The trip overall was amazing, every stop had a highlight and it is hard to think of any lowlights! Be prepared for Juan on the Estancia to make a few jokes at your expense but also be prepared to send them back! Highly recommend this trip
Loved every second of my Intrepid adventure! Highlights included the estancia stay, Iguazu Falls and Ilha Grande. Wonderful guides and well organised trip, would highly recommend!
The Best of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil tour was a great way to experience many different aspects of the Argentinian culture, tourism and hospitality.
This trip is a great overview of Argentina and Brazil to see the main highlights of these two countries, with Iguaza falls being the main highlight!
Intrepid provide a completely authentic experience in the 2 tours I have been on that they operate. I learnt a lot and saw a lot on both. Organization is meticulous and the authenticity of the experience is obvious.
Pack lightly. Bring at least 1 course of antibiotics per person. Read your trip notes carefully. The success of group travel depends on people being organised, dependable and engaged. If you do not like to socialise and engage with others, don’t choose group tours.
Intrepid offers the small group experiences with a structured itinerary for the must-sees and must-dos. There are adequate personal time for flexible planning of independent activities.
This is the second Intrepid tour that I have done. Once again I was highly impressed! The trip truly suits all ages and the tour guides work hard to ensure that every member of the group has an excellent time and can include things of personal interest to themselves.
Brazil Argentina was a thrilling and fun trip with an excellent guide and great group
Loved the trip, well organised and beautiful locations. Only wish I’d gone for a longer trip. Laura was an absolutely fantastic guide! Didn’t realise that my two week trip was a part of an overall much longer trip that other people were doing.
I strongly recommend Intrepid as they only have small group travel of up to 16 people. It is so much easier to get on with like minded travelers in small groups. They can also get off the beaten track and into areas where big 45 seat buses can’t go.
This is a great trip which covers a good variety of locations and experiences, but be prepared for some long journeys. There is a good balance of organised and free-time and lots of opportunity to get involved and support the local communities.
Intrepid is a responsible tour operator. Bringing the right message of the travel destination during the trips and let you see the journey not as a tourist
Best of Brazil and Argentina tour hits the highlights if you are pressed for time, excellent day tours of Rio and Buenos Aires and plenty of time at the Iguaçu falls to see both perspectives from Argentina and Brazilian sides. Carla was a fantastic tour leader.
A great trip at a good pace with friendly knowledgeable guides and amazing locations. A great diversity of nature, city, history, food and culture. Highly recommended.
Amazing guide. We had a fantastic time.
We had the best time of our lives cant wait until the next trip
Argentina and Brazil are fabulous countries. We loved this trip. Dennis was and excellent, informed and attentive leader. If this is your only trip, no need for walking boots – I did the whole trip in flip-flops!
We just had a few spare days to hit the highlights and this trip was perfect. It is a little more expensive than many of the trips if a same length as there are two flights, but would recommend over overlanding These big distances with just a few days. The accommodation was all a very high standard. Our guide Carla was amazing. Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro were very well covered in their respective city tours and over a day spent at Iguazu Falls to really take it all in. I would highly highly recommend this trip!
A great trip Cultural value and insights 10 out of 10
Two fantastic cities, one exceptional waterfall and an exceptional estancia experience.
An excellent opportunity for women travelling alone, also a maximum 16 people makes it not too uncomfortable
we are disappointed to learn that your scheme of 9 trips and then receive a discount has restrictions. We did not realise that if we book 2 or 3 trips and they are linked, it only counts as one trip even though they have different trip codes ie 8 days this one, 12 days this one or you can join them into one. NOT HAPPY! In future we will try not to join them but do something different in between and then pick up the next tour at a later date so they are counted separately.
I love intrepid travels. Trips are good value for money with small groups. There are also plenty of free time to do your own things. Safety of travelling with others. Itinerary with exciting places to visit is all done for you. Transport is all organized for you….
A fun, informative, educational experience of three amazing countries. Well organised, great guides and of course all main aspects covered. Also enough free time to explore. A must for all to experience.
We would not hesitate to use Intrepid again, the way the trips are structured allow you to see the best parts of a country and really get to ‘feel’ the country and small groups give the feeling of an independant traveller, but with the sequirity of proffessional guides
Wonderful quick trip that lets you see big sights of south america
Amazing trip! Iguazu Falls is stunning from both the Argentinean and Brazil side. The boat ride going under the Falls was so much fun! The hills and views of Rio are fantastic. From Christ the Redeemer in the morning to Sugar loaf mountain in the evening, the views are epic. Experiencing a football game amongst Flamengo supporters was unforgettable. Going to a favela was a thought provoking experience.
This tour was an excellent taste of Chile and Argentina. I especially liked the wine tasting day and the food at the estancia.
Intepid needs to stop cutting costs and raise the overall standard of accommodation provided. This is not the 1970s were choices were limited and facilities challenging. I would not have minded paying for upgraded accommodation upon booking if i knew what was in store. The patagonian wilderness is spectacular and our tour leader, crew and fellow travelers are what really made this trip enjoyable.
Great trip showing you the contrasts in South America from the city life of Buenos Aires and Rio to the green space of Uruguay and the amazing force of nature in Igazu Falls, alongside relaxed island life in the beautiful Ilha Grande of Brazil.
Worth visiting alone for the Perito Moreno glacier which is a truly awe-inspiring sight! Come prepared for weather of all varieties, a few fairly challenging 20km hikes through spectacular scenery. I would recommend doing the Glacier walk (with a surprise at the end!) and the Penguin walk in Ushuaia as those were unforgettable experiences for me.
An awesome trip. Great variety of activities and impressive nature. If you love nature and bring physically active, this trip is the right one for you!
An amazing trip! Great group, great guides all along and very satisfying personal challenges. Weather was kind with only a touch of rain and Patagonian wind ,which helped cope with the very long and strenuous walks. Perito Moreno Glacier was a highlight; something mystical and ethereal about it. Be fit, have the right gear, the camping bit is camping, not glamping…. its only 3 days so just embrace it! Bus trips are well doable. And most of all have an open mind and embrace the challenge! Read Bruce Chatwins In Patagonia to alert your senses to this magical place.
Intrepid is the way to go in South America!
An overall excellent experience, a diverse range of landscapes and cultures and lot of great memories to take home. I learned a lot about the places I visited.
Short but sweet trip to see all the major sights in Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro.
The Best of Argentina and Brazil lived up to its name – every day was the best day ever!
We loved our experience. The smallness of the group was important. We never felt rushed and we saw what we wanted to see. We spent some time in the Colchagua Valley prior to joining the intrepid group in Santiago and those few days were really great. The wineries are spectacular. You might want to include that in the future.
